Today at Google’s I/O conference Google made the rumored Android 3.1 Honeycomb update for tablets official. The update will be rolling out to Verizon’s Motorola Xoom 3G customers today. The update brings performance enhancements (including a faster web browser), resizable widgets, “host mode” to directly transfer pictures from a digital camera using a USB port and the ability to use various USB devices including Xbox360 and PS3 controllers with your Android 3.1 Tablet. The update also brings updated versions of Android’s standard apps along with a new Movie app through which you can download various movies from the market place, a movie editor app called “Movie Studio” and a brand new quick control menu. Besides tablets the update will also be coming to Google TV. Google also announced that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will also be getting Android 3.1 in a few weeks.
