From last few weeks we have been hearing reports regarding Google discountinuing the 8GB Nexus 7 tablet. Google has been rumored to replace the 8GB version with the 16GB version of Nexus 7 and introduce a new 32GB Nexus 7 tablet in the coming days. The official announcement is expected on October 29th, when Google is holding a special Android event.

Right now we seeing an interesting development regarding the 8GB Nexus 7. Google’s Play store is showing the ‘out of stock’ notice under the sales page of this particualr model of Nexus 7 with ‘COMING SOON’ written in capital letters. Something tells us that the 8GB Nexus 7 isn’t coming soon, in fact it is never coming back on sale. While we have no confirmation over this from any reliable source, and 8GB version of Nexus 7 could return in the coming days, it looks highly unlikely that Google will restock it in the light of the reports we have been hearing.

It is expected that the 16GB model of Nexus 7 will sell for $199, which is the current price of the 8GB model while the new 32GB will be sold for $250 replacing the 16GB version on that price point.

Although all this is nothing more than speculation right now, we sure hope to get some official word on this situation soon as October 29th isn’t that far away. [via AndroidPolice]
