Wondering why can’t you sign into PSN and enjoy a session of Call of Duty? Well that’s because the PSN (or SEN as it is known now) is down for maintenance.

The total downtime period will last around 12 hours and should be up tomorrow i.e 18th of January for most of you guys.

As part of our continuing efforts to improve our products and services, our servers will be undergoing updates and maintenance this Thursday, January 17th, from approximately 8:00am to 8:00pm (Pacific Time).

Services will be unavailable during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your support.

Regards

Sony Team

Just like previous downtimes you won’t be able to access the Playstation Store, create a new account, or modify you profile settings. The downtime should not affect online play so users who haven’t logged out after the maintenance has started will be able to play their games of choice with their friends.

Update: The maintenance has more extended further as notified by the Playstation Twitter.

Hurry up Sony!

Update #2: Sony is now saying that the maintenance will last till around 2:00am PDT (5:00am Eastern) Saturday January 19th.

Update #3: PSN is back!
