Google has announced a Pokémon Sleep special edition of the screenless Fitbit Air fitness band, finished in a color called Sleepy Blue. Its launch timing remains disputed, with one outlet saying pre-orders have begun and another placing the release in September.
The band carries a printed label with a sleeping Pikachu alongside Pokémon Sleep branding, according to reporting from Android Authority and Engadget. Android Authority says customers can pre-order the device through the Google Store and Target.
A sleep-game tie-in for a screenless tracker
Pokémon Sleep is a game built around sleep tracking. It gives players rewards connected to how long they sleep, making the partnership a direct fit for a wearable aimed at recording health and activity data without a display.
The Pikachu model gives Google a way to connect a fitness accessory with an existing game routine. That matters because Pokémon Sleep’s reward system depends on regular sleep duration, while the themed hardware places that habit at the center of the product’s design rather than treating the character branding as a separate promotion.
The Fitbit Air line now has three reported versions
This edition expands the Fitbit Air range to three reported variants. The lineup previously included a standard band and a Stephen Curry special edition, making the Pokémon collaboration the next branded version of Google’s screenless wearable.
Special editions can also help distinguish a product line with limited visible differences. Here, the sleeping Pikachu label and Sleepy Blue finish give fans of the game a clear visual alternative to the standard model, while retaining the same basic band format described for the range.
Google has not established an exact release date, a price, or detailed regional availability for the Pokémon Sleep edition. It is also unclear whether the pre-orders cited by Android Authority extend beyond the Google Store and Target, and the differing pre-order and September release accounts do not yet clarify when customers will receive the band.
