Adobe has announced AI Assisted Editor, a beta option for Photoshop that lets people direct image edits with text prompts. The tool sits alongside the software’s established editing workflow, giving users a choice over whether to enable the new interface.
According to reports from CNET and 9to5Mac, the beta uses a simplified layout centered on written instructions instead of the application’s usual collection of editing controls. Adobe describes the feature as an additional AI-based tool within its image-editing software.
A separate route into image editing
The new mode is designed for prompt-based image editing. Users can enter text to express the changes they want to make, placing natural-language instructions at the center of the process.
That approach differs from the standard Photoshop experience, where creators work through its existing editing workflow. Adobe is keeping that familiar route available, so the prompt-driven interface remains an elective mode rather than a required change for everyone using the application.
The decision matters because Photoshop has long served as Adobe’s core image-editing program, with an interface built around established tools and controls.
