One of the drawbacks of using an iPhone or Windows Phone 7 phone is that they rely too much on iTunes and Zune respectively. Users can only transfer music, video and pictures between their computer and phone using the said software. Zune and iTunes also convert files into a native format for you phone and it’s automatic so the quality isn’t always spectacular. Use the following guide to encode HD (720p or 1080p) videos manually for your Windows Phone 7 device.
It doesn’t really matter what video conversion program you use just use the following settings:
- Video container: MP4
- Video resolution: 800 x 480 (Since all WP7 phones currently use this resolution)
- Video codec: H264 2 Pass
- Video bitrate: 1200 kbps
- Audio format: AAC Stereo
- Audio bitrate: 128 kbps
These settings will ensure maximum video quality on your Windows Phone 7 phone.
