Nokia reveals PureView 808, meet the New Camera King

Nokia revealed the true successor to the N8 in grand fashion today at the MWC. The Nokia PureView 808 sports a 41 Megapixel Sensor, yes you read it right, 41 MegaPixel sensor in its camera for amazing photos and videos. The large sensor is capable of capturing seven pixels of details and combine them into one for the best image quality possible. This also makes it possible to zoom without any loss of detail. The phone is capable of taking 3, 5, 8 or even 38 MP photos.

The phone is capable of recording videos at 1080p resolution at 30 FPS as well as 720p videos. The large sensor also comes into play here as it allows lossless zooming of 4x at 1080p, 6x at 720p and an amazing 12x at nHD (640×360) resolution.

Now lets move on to the other details. The 808 will run on Symbian Belle and is powered by a single-core 1.3GHz processor with 512MB of RAM. It has a 4″ display with nHD resolution. For connectivity, there is NFC, Wifi and Bluetooth 3.0. HDMI is there as well as USB On-the-Go.

The 808 has a hump on its back much like on the N8. The phone will be available in white, red and black colours. The Nokia 808 is expected to hit markets in May 2012.The Nokia PureView technology is the new name for camera-centric devices and Nokia will use this technology in their future products.
