  • Apple Cracking Down On Unauthorized iOS 5 Users, Closes Down Developer Accounts

Looks like Apple is not happy with users who have illegally installed iOS 5 betas on their devices and not using the authorized process by buying a developer account for $99. Apple is coming for you people, be prepared.

New in iOS 5 is the setup wizard which forces you to adjust the basic settings like time, date etc and activate the phone. Apple can now deny activation which makes the device little more than a paperweight until and unless it’s downgraded to a previous firmware. Users were then forced to pay website promising Apple IDs for as much as $15 but recently Apple started cracking them down and deactivating the developer accounts of the website’s owners. If you want to downgraded to iOS 4 follow the guide here.

  • How To: Get 20 Free Games For Your Nintendo 3DS

Do you own a 3DS? Planning to buy one in the next couple of weeks, better buy it before 12th August. If you do so, you are eligible for about 20 full and free games from Nintendo. Read on to find out how you can claim this amazing offer.

Nintendo suffered major loss this year despite the launch of 3DS. The main cause of this loss fell on the sales of 3DS which was expected to sell in millions but managed to sell just a tiny bit of it. Despite Nintendo’s best effort to capitalize on the 3D provided by 3DS, people were already getting tired of it – calling the 3D as just a gimmick. 3DS was labeled more as a over-powered DS rather then a whole new handheld.

This all caused Nintendo to announce a price drop and they also decided to giveaway free 20 games to all the 3DS owners and all soon-to-be 3DS owners who buy it before 12th August. This program is labeled as Nintendo’s “3DS Ambassador” although the details are still shallow.

These 20 free games include 10 Game Boy Advance games and the rest 10 are NES games. While Nintendo hasn’t released any Game Boy Advance games yet on 3DS online store, they will be specially released early for this program and those who are registered for it will get their hands on these games early. The rest will have to wait until later this year when Nintendo will finally introduce Game Boy Advance games on the eShop of 3DS.

    What are they offering?

The announced titles so far for the NES are: Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda. The Game Boy Advance ones are: Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

How can i claim this offer?

To claim this wonderful offer, you need to sign in on your 3DS eShop before 12th August. If you don’t have internet and you haven’t signed in yet, better hurry as this offer will expire soon. Remember, signing in to eShop will register your system, not the user itself. It means that if you sold your 3DS, you won’t be able to get your hands on these 20 free games unless you can somehow get it back(Or get a new one before 12th August and sign in the eShop).

This rumor was going on around the web that their is a Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 version in works. It had additional stages, upgraded gameplay, new gameplay modes and additional characters. Now it is finally confirmed by Capcom officially.

Capcom has a long history of releasing updated versions of their old games with extras and new features. They did it with Resident Evil 5(Gold Edition), again with Street Fighter 4(Super Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition) and now Marvel VS Capcom 3 is receiving this same treatment.

This version will contain about 12 additional new characters which will bump the total character roster to a massive 50 fighters. In addition to this, Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 also features enhancements and new features which will improve the gameplay mechanics and online multiplayer mode.

Out of the 12 characters, the fighters that are announced so far are:-

    1. 1. Striker (Capcom)
    2. 2. Firebrand (Capcom – Ghost ‘n Goblins)
    3. 3. Ghost Rider (Marvel)
    4. 4. Hawkeye (Marvel)

Additional characters will be announced in the upcoming months. Below are some of the screenshots showing these new fighters.

It will retail for $39.99 and will be released in November this year on PS3 and Xbox 360. PC guys are excused again so if any of you had hope of this version coming to PC as well, better shatter them as unlike Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, this won’t get a PC release. Maybe Capcom will reconsider it later but for now there is no plan of a PC release.

If you’re like us and using your iPhone on an unofficial carrier there are two possibilities, either your phone is jailbroken(ultrasn0w) or you’re using the phone with Gevey SIM. Now, in most third world countries the iPhone still hasn’t officially launched, what this means for the iPhone users in those countries is that the contact names do not show up in the SMS app. Most users end up saving each contact twice, one with the country code and one without, this is, however a tedious task. • iPhone 4GS Prototype Images Leaked, Looks Very Similar To The iPhone 4

New leaked images of the iPhone 4GS had been posted on a Chinese alternative to Twitter: Weibo. Many images of the next iPhone have leaked from China but we still can’t confirm the legitimacy of these new ones.

The image above is of the rumored iPhone 4GS running test firmware similar to which we’ve seen running on the prototype builds of previous iPhones. The design too looks exactly like the iPhone 4 with no major difference that we can point out.

The second is picture is of a screen from iTunes where the aforementioned iPhone 4GS is connected to. The thumbnail looks exactly like the iPod Touch 1st generation which is quite odd.

Well that’s another rumor for you guys, we’ll keep covering further Apple news so keep tuned.

  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 Release Date For North America Officially Announced

This upcoming sequel to the popular JRPG Final Fantasy XIII is getting a western release next year. Square Enix have officially announced that this game will hit North American shelves on January 2012.

Japan will be getting this game sooner then North America as it will be released in Japan at the end of this year in December.

This will be a more open-world game instead of the linear Final Fantasy XIII. This means that bigger maps and bigger environments. The biggest complaint gamers had with the previous game was that it was pretty linear. Director Motomu Toriyama told Famitsu after E3 that, whereas XIII was story-driven, XIII-2 is “player-driven. The player actively explores the world, and events take place based on his actions. It’s made to allow a lot of choices to be made by the player. Compared to XIII, we’re using very few prerendered scenes; it’s mostly realtime.”

The main story may take about 40+ hrs to complete but their is some sort of new game+ mode included in this sequel which will allow us to replay the game in a new sort of way. It seems like this new game+ is different then the standard new game+ that is available in so many Square Enix titles. It allowed us to replay the game while still maintaining the stats and levels of our characters as well as most of the weapons and items that we collected throughout the game. It made the game a lot easier and in some new game+ mode, their was even extra optional content not available the first time.

There are a lot more mini games expected as well. It seems like that a lot of the stuff that was discarded from XIII perhaps due to space issue will make its debut in this sequel. See the extended trailer shown at this E3 below.
