  • Samsung to unveil Galaxy Note 2 this August

Samsung has enjoyed an unexpected amount of success with its Galaxy Note smartphone. The phone/tablet mixture initially looked like a niche device but the tens of millions of copies sold it’s pretty clear now that people love a big smartphone. So it’s natural that Samsung would want to continue this success by releasing a true successor. We’ve already seen some rumors regarding the successor to Galaxy Note before, let’s see what we have this time around.

According to reports, Samsung will hold a dedicated event for the launch of Galaxy Note 2 on August 30th. The event will start at 7pm CET and as mentioned, it will be about Galaxy Note 2 only.

Now onto some speculated specs. Samsung will most likely go with a quad-core CPU to power this monster. It’s probably going to be their Exynos brand of SOCs with Mali GPU. The screen size is increased and now measures at 5.5″ with the same 720p resolution. It will use Samsung’s SAMOLED technology. There’s no mention of RAM capacity though it’s likely to be around 2GB. The smartphone will come with Jelly Bean out of the box (thank heavens for that).

The camera is rumored to be a 13MP unit. That is easily the biggest sensor (in terms of MP) that Samsung has used in an Android smartphone. It seems unlikely though, because Samsung still keeps its Galaxy S lineup as its top end, and that only has a 8MP camera.

If the phone does support LTE, which it most likely will, Samsung will probably go with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset for the North American market. That is if they’ve not yet found a way to incorporate LTE onto a quad core chipset.

So this is shaping out to be quite a monster of a phone, both physically and technically. August is only a month away, so we’ll know more about this as the time approaches.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg was quoted as follows talking about the game:

The Call of Duty franchise continues to set the bar for innovation and we expect the new Call of Duty game in development for 2013 to raise that bar even higher.

No other information about Call of Duty 2013 was revealed. So we have no idea who is developing the game, what platforms it will be playable on or an exact date of when it will come out. Activision did comment on the recent rumors of Sony and Microsoft’s next gen consoles saying:

There is increased volatility this year due to the ongoing console transition, which makes predicting the future more challenging than during normal uses in the cycle. For Call of Duty, consistent with our past practices, we are planning for the mainline release in Q4 to be down versus 2012.

Some rumors have been suggested that Call of Duty 2013 will be a cross platform title appearing on both current and next gen consoles. We hope to hear more about Call of Duty 2013 soon but till then stay tuned to TechDeville.

  • iPhone 5 Price In Pakistan

Looking for the latest iPhone 5 prices in Pakistan? Ever since the iPhone 5 launched, people have been raving about the smartphone and its epic features. The iPhone 5 is also a local favorite in Pakistan. It sells among the highest selling Android phones in the market. This phone comes in three forms, a 16 GB version, a 32 GB version and a 64 GB version, each varying greatly in the price. They also come in two colors, black and white, the white version is harder to find in the local Pakistani market, being the version in demand these days.

specs size2 iPhone 5 Price In Pakistan

Like every other smartphone, the iPhone 5 has a lot of varying prices specially in the local market. For the latest iPhone 5 Price In Pakistan, check out the full list below:

    1. Apple iPhone 5 16 GB – 69,999 PKR

The iPhone 5 does not come with an external SD card slot, but the internal memory makes up for the missing feature. It also comes with the super-fast A6 processor which is smaller in size than its predecessor and consumes lesser battery life.  It also comes loaded with the latest iOS 6 operating system which has a lot of nifty features that the older versions didn’t have.

Looking at the physical appearance, the iPhone 5 does not go very far from its predecessor the iPhone 4S. The battery is above-standard for smartphones, it comes with an 8 hours of talk time and 255 hours of stand by time. It can also be used as a good music player with audio playback time with up to 40 hours.

The screen is as beautiful as ever, with the incredible Retina Display which comes along with a huge 4-inch display with multi-touch capabilities. It also comes with an oleophobic cover on the front which protects it from fingerprint impressions. The camera is an 8-megapixel HD camera which comes with auto-focus.

The video recording capabilities could have been better, the camera produces average 720p videos. The camera also sports an LED flashlight along. The sensors on the iPhone 5 are quite a few, along with the Accelerometer, we have the Proximity Sensor, Ambient Light Sensor and Three axis-gyro sensor.

Knowing Apple, the accessories don’t come cheap. The phone itself comes along with the earphones which I personally don’t like that much because of the below-par sound quality they produce. Well, there you have it, this was a short review of the phone along with the prices in Pakistan. Check back here for updated prices as they change.
