The Motorola Droid3 appeared out of nowhere at phone benchmarking site Nenamark. The phone seems to be powered by a OMAP4430 from Texas Instruments instead of NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor, don’t worry though the OMAP4430 is still a dual core processor. The GPU is the PowerVR SGX 540 GPU which is considered a standard among most high-end phones. The screen resolution has been bumped to qHD resolutions at 960×540. The OS running during the benchmark is Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The phone also features a front facing camera and a new sleek black and silver exterior. It’s also very unlikely that this phone would come with LTE but it’s all good since this phone is nothing less than a beast.

According to Jefferies Analyst, Peter Misek, the next iPhone will be named the iPhone 4S instead of the iPhone 5, which most people expect it to be called. He further went on to say the it will “include minor cosmetic changes, better cameras, A5 dual-core processor, and HSPA+ support.”
He further went on to say that the so-called “iPhone 4S” is only going to include minor cosmetic changes as the 4G chips weren’t ready yet. He also believes that the phone will be released on Sprint, T-Mobile, and China Mobile.

Ah shares, trading, reminds of the time Wall Street was famous. LinedIn’s numbers just came through after last Thusday’s trades at the New York Stock Exchange and it seems they have INCREASED by 84 percent! (more…)
This news as of now hasn’t been confirmed yet but it sure is shocking. According to Kotaku, some of the users that were participating in the Xbox Live BETA Program and were testing the new disc format won’t be able to play it. Mark Serrels wrote:
We’ve just had a look at a verified email, sent from Xbox LIVE customer support, claiming that a recent update provided to Xbox LIVE beta testers is preventing “a very small number of Xbox 360 owners from playing retail discs”.
Avery Penn, who was working in this BETA program got this email today from Xbox Support and it was verified that it was indeed the real deal here. The email which was sent to some of the participants said that the new Software update may have stopped the ability of some Xbox systems to play retail discs. Microsoft was apparently offering him a Xbox 360 S with 1 year free Gold Subscription. Check out the email below.
Avery Penn has said that his Xbox 360 was a 2009 model Xbox Go Pro with 60 GB Hard Disk. He was still playing retails games fine when this email was sent which raises a lot of question on why it was actually sent to him.
This email is definitely talking about the new dashboard update which is going to be released sometime between 19th to 30th May. This new dashboard update re-flashes the DVD drive’s firmware back to stock firmware which is Microsoft’s latest step in order to combat piracy.
Update
Joystiq contacted Microsoft and got an official statement in response.
“Following a recent update to our system software, we have become aware of an issue that is preventing a very small number of Xbox 360 owners from playing retail game discs. This issue manifests itself as a unique ‘disc unreadable’ or ‘disc unsupported’ error on the screen and is unrelated to our recent public beta. We are also able to detect this issue over Xbox LIVE and are proactively reaching out to customers that may be impacted to replace their console. Any Xbox 360 owners receiving this error are encouraged to contact us at www.xbox.com/support/contact so we can verify if the console has been impacted.”

Last morning, Sony rolled out a new mandatory firmware update which was required for the new PSN. Sony then started restoring PSN service, first in the USA and then in Europe. This new PSN was enhanced with added protection and extra layers of security after the hackers attack last month which resulted in about 100 million of user account info being compromised.
We have already posted how you can change you PSN password. Those of you, who are still having problems with update, Sony has officially issued statement on their US Playstation Blog. This statement reads:
We’re currently experiencing an extremely heavy load of password resets, and so we recently had to turn off services for approximately 30 minutes to clear the queue.
As such, a large number of people are attempting to change their passwords at the same time, it’s taking longer than expected for all those emails to clear all of the ISPs.
If you’ve requested your password reset, please give it a bit of time to reach your email. Thanks for your patience as we work to get everyone back online.
So, those of you who are still having trouble with their password recovery email, please be patient. There are about 77 million user accounts on PSN, due to this there is a huge traffic trying to restore their PSN.

The iPhone rumor mill is in full swing today; first the iphone 4S rumor and now this. A posting for a new crystal case design for the so-called “iPhone 5G” has surfaced today on Alibaba. The back of the case has two holes instead of a single one for the camera and flash on either side of the phone. The other hole could be for a 3D camera or a redesigned flash, which one? Only time will tell. The case picture on the page also seems to complement the earlier rumor that the iPhone 5 would sport a larger edge-to-edge screen. These sort of designs are worth noting as Chinese suppliers often get devices ahead of launch so they can design the cases.

Bad news for all the Playstation 3, PSP owners again. Sony’s Shigenori Yoshida is quoted saying that Sony is still uncertain whether they can restore the service any sooner. Sony has set the deadline for the restoration of PSN until 31st May. As of yet, Sony is working fully to resume PSN functionality and increase the security so to avoid any such accidents in future.
PSN security was compromised last month when a group of hackers managed to bypass it’s security. A lot of user info was believed to be stolen in this process including Credit Card info. The Hacker’s are yet to be identified and no hacking group has claimed the PSN Breach so far.
