  • Kingston Announces SDXC Class 10 Value Cards For Budget Users

    Kingston today announced a brand new SDXC card intended for budget oriented users. The new SDXC Class 10 Value Cards are available in 64GB and 128GB flavors.

    The SDXC Value Cards have a speed rating of Class 10 allowing them to reach 10MB/s minimum transfer speeds which is perfect for recording high definition video and taking high resolution pictures rapidly.

    “It is important to note that although SDXC cards are identical in size to standard SD cards, they have a different design and are only recognized by SDXC host devices,” said Nathan Su the Flash Memory Sales Director of APAC Region at Kingston. “Consumers need to make sure that their camera or camcorder carries the SDXC logo to ensure compatibility and make the most of the new, huge capacity options.”

    The Kingston SDXC Class 10 Value Cards come with the same quality finish as Kingston’s other products, but to make you feel secure the Taiwanese company will also be offering a lifetime warranty and free tech support with the cards.

    A price or release date for the Kingston SDXC Class 10 Value Cards hasn’t been announced yet but we’ll keep you updated.

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX TGS Trailer Released, Looks Great In HD

    The Kingdom Hearts series is my favorite gaming series ever, so my excitement went through the roof Square Enix announced the long awaited Kingdom Hearts HD collection in the form of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX.

    They’ve now released a trailer showing off Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX’s graphical improvement, the video is embedded below:

    The original Kingdom Hearts when released ten years ago looked one of PS2′s greatest looking games, seeing the timeless classic in HD surely brings a tear to the eye.

    Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX includes HD versions of Kingdom Hearts 1: FM and Kingdom Hearts RE:COM along with cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days. The game is expected to release in Japan next year for the PS3 with no announcement of an international release but if previous Kingdom Hearts games are anything to go by then we will definitely get to play it.

  • Apple To Reveal New iPod Touch, Shuffle And Nano With The iPhone 5 Next Week?

    9to5Mac is reporting that Apple will be showing off new iPod devices along with the iPhone 5 at their September 12th media event. Apple will presumably be showing a tweaked iPod Shuffle, and new iPod Touch and iPod Nano devices.

    The iPod Shuffle will be available at around the $49 price point and will now come in 8 different colors upped from its current library of 5.

    The iPod Nano on the other hand has a brand new codename leading us to believe that it will be redesigned, there had been rumors of a taller iPod Nano so this might be it. The Nano will also come in 8 colors.

    Highly popular game and software developers Valve are planning to enter the hardware market. Behind hit games and services like Half Life and Steam respectively the multi-billion dollar company are “frustrated by the lack of innovation of in the computer hardware space” as “even in basic input, the keyboard and mouse, haven’t really changed much in any meaningful way over the years.”

  • How to Root Galaxy S III I9300 Running XXDLI2 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware

    The XXDLI2 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean got leaked earlier today. After flashing the ROM, your Galaxy S III must have been unrooted. No need to worry as now you can root Galaxy S III I9300 Running XXDLI2 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware by using CF-Root as given in the tutorial below.

    This tutorial will guide you through the entire process of how to root XXDLI2 Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean on Galaxy S III I9300 (factory unlocked version). Before starting make sure  to download CF-Root Package which contains with SuperSu v0.93, ClockworkMod recovery v5.5 and CWM manager v3.60. Before starting the root process make sure that you have done with the following:

    • Installed all USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy S III.
    • Enabled USB debugging mode
    • Charge the battery up to at least 85%
    • Backup your data

    Now follow the step-by-step instructions:

    Step 1. Download CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.zip for Galaxy S III from here.

    Step 2. Download ODIN v1.85 from here.

    Step 3. Switch off your phone and go to Download Mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down plus Home buttons, followed by pressing the Power button till you see the Android. Pressing Power button again will enter you in Download Mode.

    Step 4. Open ODIN on your computer and connect your phone while its in Download mode.

    Step 5. Wait for one of the ID:COM boxes to turn yellow with COM port number.

    Step 6. Select the root file that you have to flash on your phone located in the zip file downloaded in step 1.

    Step 7. Click on PDA tab and select CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.tar.

    Step 8. Enable the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options in ODIN and click the start button.

    Step 9. After the flashing is complete, your phone will restart. When you see the home screen, unplug it from computer.

    All done and now your Samsung Galaxy S III has been rooted on Android 4.1.1 XXDLI2 Firmware. To make sure you have successfully rooted your Galaxy S III check the Superuser app in your app list or verify with the Root Checker app available on Google play store.   • How to Install Galaxy S III I9300 XXDLI2 OTA Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean Firmware

    XXDLI2 official beta firmware got leaked earlier today. Now XXDLI2 OTA firmware has also been leaked, follow the guide below to install it.

    Download XXDLI2 OTA Firmware from here.

    Step 1. Download XXDLI2 OTA from the link above.

    Step 2. Mount your Galaxy S III to your PC via USB cable.

    Step 3. Transfer the firmware file to your SD card’s root.

    Step 4. Turn off your phone and disconnect your Galaxy S III from your PC after the transfer is complete.

    Step 5. Boot into Recovery Mode by pressing Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at a time.

    Step 6. Navigate to apply update from SD card using the volume buttons. Press power to confirm your selection.

    Step 7. Press the power button again to select a file.

    Step 8. Select the XXDLI2 OTA firmware file which we transferred earlier. Press power to select the file and confirm the selection.

    Step 9. Finally after the installation is complete select the reboot now option.

    Your Galaxy S III will now boot into XXDLI2 OTA firmware. The initial boot will take around 5 minutes so don’t worry.

  • How To Install Nexus 7 Android 4.1.1 AOKP (Build 1) Jelly Bean ROM

    Great news for Nexus 7 users who’ve been waiting for AOKP (Android Open Kang Project) to release their ever famous ROM for the tablet. They’ve only released the first build i.e Build 1 so far so there may be bugs and glitches here and there so install the ROM at your own risk. A few features of the Android 4.1.1 AOKP Build 1 ROM are below:

    • Notification Toggles
    • Lockscreen tweaks (no custom targets yet)
    • Navigation bar modifications
    • Custom kernel performance options
    • LED colors
    • Notification wallpapers
    • Phone ringer modifications (Flip call to silent, silent/vibrate when headphones are in)

    Before starting the install process make sure that your Nexus 7′s battery is above 85% and you have your important data all backed up. Also make sure that you have CWM (ClockWork Recovery Mod) installed.

    Lets start

    Step 1. Enable USB Debugging by going into Settings > Developer Options and then tapping on the USB Debugging box.

    Step 2. Download the AOKP Android 4.1.1 Build 1 Jelly Bean ROM from here and the Google Apps package from here.

    Step 3. Connect your Nexus 7 to your computer via USB cable.

    Step 4. Transfer the AOKP ROM and Google Apps packages to your Nexus 7, make sure they are in the root directory.

    Step 5. Now turn your Nexus 7 off.

    Step 6. Now hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power at the same time to boot into the Bootloader.

    Step 7. Navigate into the Recovery menu.

    Step 7. In CWM perform a factory reset and delete the cache and dalvik cache. This is optional but will help avoid any errors.

    Step 8. Navigate to Install from ZIP and select the AOKP ROM we transferred to the SD card earlier.

    Step 9. After that’s done navigate to Install from ZIP again but this time install the Google Apps package.

    Step 10. After the installation is complete navigate to Reboot system now option.

    The initial boot should take a few minutes and if everything goes well you’ll boot into AOKP Android 4.1.1 Build 1 Jelly Bean. If you have any questions feel free to ask them in the comments below.

    Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was announced back in June at Google I/O and brought along many great improvements like Project Butter. Follow the tutorial below to check out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean’s new features by installing the emulator on your PC.

    The full guide is below:

    Step 1. Download the Android SDK installer from here.

    Step 2. Install the SDK, it should be pretty straight forward.

    Step 3. Now browse to the location where the SDK is installed and click on SDK Manager. The application will attempt to fetch files from Google’s servers, let the process complete before continuing further.

    Step 4. Now choose only the files in Android 4.1 (API 16) folder and Android SDK Platform-tools.

    Step 5. Now click on Install Package on the bottom right hand corner.

    Step 6. Click on Install to start the installation process.

    Step 7. After that’s done go back to where you installed the Android SDK and open AVD Manager.

    Step 8. Click on New and add a virtual device with the following settings:

    Name: JellyBean

    Target: Select Android 4.1 from the drop down menu.

    Skin: Default

    Hardware: Abstracted LCD Density at 240, Max VM Application at 48 and Device RAM Size at 512.

    Step 9. Click on create AVD.

    Step 10. Click OK.

    Step 11. Click the AVD you just created, it should be at the top.

    Step 12. Click the Launch button.

    The emulator will now boot into Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the start up should take around 5 minutes.
