Do you have an inconsistent Internet connection? Keeps disconnecting every 10 minutes and can’t finish a match? Try putting your PS3 or Xbox 360 into a DMZ zone which basically allows all traffic from your router to get to your gaming console. You should not enable DMZ on your PC but it’s perfectly safe for your console.
The process is very simple, just follow the guide below:
- Find out and note down the IP of your default router and the IP your console is connected to.
- Go to the Internet connection options.
- Make a custom connection.
- Enter the same IP addresses you noted down previously in the IP and default router section.
- Leave the Subnet Mask as it is.
- Leave the DNS servers as it is or change them if you want, it’s completely optional. We’d recommend Google’s 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 servers since they work pretty good for gaming.
- Leave all the other options as they are.
- Now go to your Modem/Router’s page.
- You can find the DMZ option under Advanced Settings usually.
- Enable it and enter the IP your device is connected to.
That’s it, do let us know if that made a difference.
