  • Amazon’s rumored smartphone might be free

According to a new report by former Wall Street Journal reporter, Jessica E. Lessin, the long rumored Amazon smartphone will be sold for free whether it’s sold via carrier contract or not. There are whispers of Amazon trying to introduce an Amazon Prime like service but it’s skeptical as Amazon will have to strike difficult deals with both manufacturers and cell phone carriers to make something happen that hasn’t been done before.

Where is that Amazon smartphone Amazons rumored smartphone might be free

Amazon has previously tried something similar to this, their recent Kindle Fire line of tablets were sold at a lower cost which allowed them to make up profit by selling books, apps, videos, etc.

The Amazon smartphone is rumored to run a modified version of Android like the Kindle Fire line of tablets. This version does not include any of Google’s line of apps like the Play Store and are replaced by Amazon’s own services. It’ll be nice to have more competition in the Android space as it can only lead to more innovation, what do you think? Let us know your opinion in the comments below.

  • Kindle Fire for £99 on Amazon UK for Black Friday

We covered the Black Friday deals for Apple products in the US and Australia. And while UK isn’t traditionally a place where Black Friday is celebrated, some international retailers are now catching on the trend and have started offering some great deals. One such retailer is Amazon. How does Amazon let the Brits enjoy Black Friday? By discounting one of their own products of course.

For Black Friday Amazon has discounted the Kindle Fire. The 7-inch tablet with 8GB internal memory normally retails for £129 but for today Amazon has slashed £30 of its price which means the tablet can be yours for an impressive £99. Even at £129 the Kindle Fire is a steal but with this price it’s almost a no brainer for anyone looking to buy their tech-geek friends or spouses a great gift. Do note that this is the ad-supported version of Kindle Fire.

Also included in the deal for UK customers is a months free trial of the LOVEFiLM streaming service. Also included is a months free trial of Amazon Prime through which Kindle device owners can choose from more than 200,000 books to borrow for free with no due dates, including current and former top sellers in the Amazon.co.uk Kindle Store. For more information head over to the Kindle Fire product page at Amazon UK.

  • TCS Connect – The eBay Of Pakistan

TCS Connect (a.k.a. TCA e-MarketPlace) is a new service to be launched in the near future, details of which are still kept under tight wraps. By the looks of things, TCS is trying to take over the way people shop online in Pakistan and give them what they’d been waiting for all these years, since eBay and Amazon aren’t available in Pakistan and people had to get their items through shipment which cost them twice the price of the actual product itself.

TCS e-MarketPlace is going to do just that. It’s going to serve as an online store like Amazon and eBay but for Pakistan, so people could buy the products they want and have them shipped right to their doorsteps without having to pay expensive shipping costs.

I applaud this move by TCS and if this is anywhere near to what the speculations suggest, it could very well take the Pakistani online market by storm.
