  • Black Ops 2 Tip: Post Patch Scar-H Is A Beast

So as regular Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players may know by now that a new patch was released a few days ago which changed quite a few things gameplay wise. A few guns including the FAL, MSMC and PDW were nerfed hard while others like the Type 25 and Scar-H were buffed. After playing around with the new Scar-H for a few hours I can say that it’s much better than the launch period Scar-H.

When the game came out everybody ignored the Scar-H because of it’s high recoil and slow fire rate even though the weapon was very popular in Modern Warfare 2 as well as Modern Warfare 3 (although MW3 featured the Scar-L variant). So the last two patches have definitely changed that Scar-H for good and it’s now one of the best guns in the game.

The patch released at the end of January reduced idle sway for all the Assault Rifles as well as increasing the 3 hit kill range for the gun, now only at long range would the Scar require 4 shots to kill which was standard for all Assault Rifles. Well the March patch one up’ed that and now that Scar-H is a 3 hit kill at any distance, only the SMR and FAL have more damage now but they’re primarily single shot weapons.

  • Black Ops 2 Tip: Select Fire Attachment

In today’s Black Ops 2 tip we’ll be covering the Select Fire attachment. The Select Fire attachment is a brand new gun attachment to Call of Duty debuting in this year’s Black Ops 2. In lay man’s terms the Select Fire attachment enables Burst and Single Fire guns to be shot Fully Auto while Full Auto guns can be shot in bursts. The attachment can be very useful with some guns while completely ruining others. This article will outline the advantages and disadvantages of using the Select Fire attachment on your guns.

To start off the Select Fire attachment is only available with SMGs and Assault Rifles so we’ll obviously be focusing on those.

The MP7, PDW, MSMC and Vector are general low recoil guns, so using Select Fire won’t be of use. The Chicom on the other hand was made for the attachment, the gun’s fire rate doesn’t decrease by a lot and the recoil pattern stays pretty good, so I certainly recommend you use it with it. The Skorpion can also benefit from a Burst Fire mode as the gun has a lot of recoil while Aiming Down Sight (ADS).

M8A1SelectFire Black Ops 2 Tip: Select Fire Attachment

In the Assault Rifle category I didn’t feel any use of the attachment on the MTAR, Type 25 and M27. The FAL OSW and SMR benefit greatly from the attachment as its easier to get kills if your aim or trigger finger is not that good. The recoil on the SMR will increase a bit along with the Fire Rate on both these guns being slowed down a notch. With the AN94 I would recommend you learn to control the bursts as the gun fires the first two bullets of each Burst faster. So if you can learn to fire it in Bursts of two , which is very easy by the way, then you don’t need to waste a point on the attachment.

For the M8AI I would recommend using it in Burst Fire as its easier to fire fast on the gun by getting your timing rite to oversample the fire pattern, there is also a lot less recoil in Burst compared to Full Auto with the gun. The SCAR-H can be used effectively with Burst Fire as it greatly reduces the recoil and back to center speed on the gun. Lastly the SWAT should never be used with Select Fire as it greatly reduces the range of the weapon as seen in this video here.

  • Black Ops 2 Tip: Getting Easier Swarms And High Scorestreaks

In today’s Black Ops 2 tip we’ll be covering how to get easier Swarms and other high Scorestreaks. Now some of you expert players may already know this by now but most of you may not, so read on. With Black Ops 2 you get points for everything you do; capping flags, killing enemies, destroying UAVs, etc they all count towards your Scorestreaks which are pretty hard to get if you don’t play the objective.

So my tip to getting easy Swarms and other high Scorestreaks is simple, equip two non lethal assist based streaks with a higher streak. For a Swarm I use the Orbital VAST, EMP and finally the Swarm. Now I’m a pretty average player and had only gotten two Swarms before using this setup but let me tell you that I get a Swarm almost every game now, and yes I play in a party if you’re wondering.

Black Ops 2 15 s Black Ops 2 Tip: Getting Easier Swarms And High Scorestreaks

With my Scorestreak setup you just have to get the Orbital VSAT at 1200 points, the EMP is just 100 points above that. So basically you get the VSAT and use it, the assist points will automatically get give you an EMP, the EMP will then go to work and all you have to do now is survive for a few seconds. The EMP is a score goldmine, you get points for destroying UAVs and other Scorestreaks along with Assist points for every kill your teammates get. After running the EMP you should get a Swarm in under 15 seconds, often quicker, and the best part about the VSAT and EMP is that they cannot be taken out so don’t worry like you would do with your UAV and Counter UAVs.

  • Black Ops 2 Tip: The Foregrip AKA Grip Attachment Doesn’t Work

Well this tip is a bit disappointing. It seems that the Foregrip or Grip attachment as its also known does not work as it should on most of the weapons. I had my doubts on the attachment as its supposed to act like the Kick proficiency from Modern Warfare 3 but I could not notice difference while using it in Black Ops 2.

blackops 2 570x320 Black Ops 2 Tip: The Foregrip AKA Grip Attachment Doesnt Work

The Placebo Effect of sorts cursed to the Foregrip was confirmed by a user going by the name of Drift0r who often posts Call of Duty related tips and tricks. In his video (embedded below), he tests the attachment with various weapons. Most of them show no improvement in their recoil patterns while some of them like the AN94 and PDW perform even worse. The Foregrip attachment seem to help the most on the SCAR H which has the most recoil in the Assault Rifle category. View the video 5 minute onwards for the recoil tests.
