  • Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories Announced For PSN

    NIS America just announced Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories for a PSN release as a PS2 Classic. Unfortunately the PS2 version titled Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is inferior to the PSP port released as Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days as the latter has more characters, modes, attacks and more.

    Unfortunately, the PSN version will be a direct port of the PS2 release.

    Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is the sequel to the original Disgaea: Hour of Darkness on the PS2 and features a brand new cast of characters. So if you’re waiting for Disgaea D2 or an eventual Disgaea 5 release then Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories might last you the wait.

    Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories will be available on the PS Store 22nd of January for $9.99.

  • Shogo Kozaki Talks, Reveals Disgaea Dimensions 2 And Disgaea 5 Details

    This week’s Dengeki Playstation revealed some brand new details for the recently announced PS3 exclusive – Disgaea D2 (Disgaea Dimensions 2), report via GameNyarth.

    Disgaea producer Shogo Kozakai confirmed that Disgaea Dimensions 2 is a sequel to the original Disgaea and will take a few years after the game’s good ending. The team first considered a remake of the original Disgaea but later went ahead for a direct sequel. The game’s main trio of Laharl, Etna and Flonne will be present along with new and existing characters from the Disgaea universe.

    Talking about gameplay Disgaea Dimensions 2′s battle system will be a mix between Disgaea 4 and the original Disgaea. Many players though of Disgaea 4′s system to be too complicated so the developers are trying to making it a bit simpler like the original.

    Kozaki also revealed that Disgaea 5 is being produced and Disgaea Dimensions 2 is just the start to the Dimensions spinoff series and he hopes to make more.

    Disgaea D2 hits stores in Japan on March 20, 2013 exclusively for the PS3.

  • NIS America Confirms Disgaea 5 And English Release For Atelier Ayesha

    NIS American announced some interesting pieces of news at their Anime Expo panel in Los Angeles. The first being an official confirmation for an English release for their upcoming RPG – Atelier Ayesha: Alchemist Ground of Dusk. The game developed by publishers Gust and published by NIS was released in its home country of Japan last week. Producer Jack Niida promised an update in the next three to four months.

    The next piece of news which we’re really excited about is the confirmation of Disgaea 5 by series producer Souhei Niikawa. He had nothing more to share but promised us more news in the upcoming months.

  • Disgaea 4 Hits Hitting Stores This September!

    Developers NIS American just announced through the official Disgaea website that Disgaea 4 will indeed be hitting North American stores just like the recent rumors predicted this September. The game was released last month in Japan and received decent reviews, popular gaming magazine Famitsu gave the game 33/40, composed of a 9/8/8/8 score. The Disgaea 4 is also planned to hit Europe this fall.

    Disgaea 4 features all new and old characters, hundreds of weapons and moves along with an addictive new storyline. NIS is also holding a competition where fans can submit weapons, skills and NPCs in the game, 3 winner with be selected and credited in the game.   • Nippon Ichi’s Project D Is Disgaea D2 (Disgaea Dimensions 2) For PS3

    Nippon Ichi has finally given Project D (which they announced as part of the company’s 20th anniversary) a name along with revealing brand new details regarding the game. Project D is now titled Disgaea D2 and will be heading exclusively for the PS3. The announcement was made at a stage event in Japan, details courtesy of Famitsu.

    Disgaea D2, short for Disgaea Dimensions 2 is a direct sequel to the original Disgaea. Instead of creating a brand new character and doing Disgaea 5, series producer Mr. Shogo Kozakai wanted to go back to the series’ “starting point”.

    Disgaea D2 (Disgaea Dimensions 2) will be hitting stores in Japan March 20, 2013. No international release date has been announced but since all of the other Disgaea games have had international releases we expect this one to have one as well.
