  • Adobe Flash Player 10.3 Now Available For Android Devices

Adobe has just updated their Flash Player to version 10.3 which you can grab now from the Android Market. The update came as a shock since Adobe normally announces an update to their products a few weeks before their release but Adobe Flash Player 10.3 came out of nowhere.

The current build number for Flash Player 10.3 for Android 2.2 and above is 10.3.185.21. Flash Player 10.3 is a production GA (General Availability) release for Android 2.2 (Froyo), 2.3 (Gingerbread), and Android 3.01 (Honeycomb) devices.

    Enchancements include:

    • Enabled NEON optimizations for OMAP4 (Cortex A-9) based devices. (2853030)
    • Corrected an issue on the Samsung Galaxy S where H.264 video at resolutions of 720p and below was not displayed. (2852889)
    • Android Apps using Browser Plug-ins like Flash Player in WebView no longer need to set android:hardwareAcceleration to True in their AndroidMainfest.xml for plug-in output to be rendered. This was previously an issue on Android 3.0+ only. (2834793)
    • Fixed a crash on the HTC EVO that some users encountered with specific video. (2855425)
    • Fixed an issue that caused video frames to stop rendering on long streaming videos (> 1 hour) on some Motorola devices. (2855957)

  • Team Fortress 2 Is Now Free To Play

Team Fortress 2, one of Valve’s biggest games is now free to play on Steam. The game has been played by millions of players across the PC, Mac and Xbox 360. It was initially reported that the game is free to play for a limited time but Valve later confirmed that this new change was permanent. Valve has also released a promo video to announce the news which you can check out after the break. What could be the reason behind making one of their best selling games free? Maybe they have Team Fortress 3 under production. Even thinking about it gives me goosebumps, but can Valve really count till 3? Only time will tell.

  • PlayStation 3 Latest Firmware Update To Add Some Cool New Features

Sony has released the details on the upcoming firmware update for the PlayStation 3. According to official PlayStation blog, this new update will add the ability to auto-synch trophies and have a auto-upload function for online save data. There is a catch though, it is limited to PlayStation Plus subscribers only. Read more to find out the full change log.

Sadly, as we know, the most promising new features are only available to people who have a PlayStation Plus subscription meaning regular users won’t be able to enjoy it. So what about the regular users? What do they get with this new firmware update. Well according to the press release, the regular users are also getting some new features.

For starters, there is nothing really important. There is a new category added on XMB which will include all the Video Applications at one place for ease of use. There is also a new recommend function which will allow you to share you recommendations with others for PlayStation Store items. Along with these minor updates, this new firmware update will also bring updated support for 3D and Blu-ray playback. Read the official press release below:-

Hi everyone! As we are continuously working toward providing the best gaming and entertainment experience on PlayStation 3, I wanted to give you all a heads up on the following new features and changes coming with the next system software update (v.3.70).

To make things easier for PlayStation Plus subscribers, we’ve added the option to automate two existing features. The [Automatic Download] feature will now be called [Automatic Update] as a result of these new options.

A new auto upload function for online save data back-up will be added to make it easier to back-up your game save data. Under (Game), select the game for which you want to automatically upload saved data, and then press the Triangle button.
Also, Trophies will now sync automatically at the timing of Auto Download.
A new recommendation function will be added that enables you to share your recommendations for PlayStation Store items, such as games and videos, with PlayStation Network friends. You will be able to send messages with a store link from the product pages within the PlayStation Store.
Due to the increase in video applications being offered on PS3, we are adding a new category on the XMB called TV/Video Services. This category will include video applications such as Netflix, Hulu PLUS, and VUDU.

You’ll be able to find and download all of the video applications available on PS3 directly from this new XMB category.
A folder labeled “My Channels” within this category will allow you to easily access your downloaded applications.
Any videos downloaded from the PlayStation store will continue to be placed in the existing Video category on the XMB

Two updates for all of you enjoying Blu-ray 3D movies on PS3:

3D support will now be available when accessing Java-based special features on Blu-Ray
DTS-HD MA, DTS-HD HR decoding/bit stream output (or lossless audio) will be supported while playing Blu-ray 3D movies.
3D digital photos in MPO format can now be viewed in 3D on the XMB and in the Photo Gallery app.

  • How To: Download And Install PS3 Games Patches, Updates, Demos ETC Using Your PC

Most of you probably don’t have super fast Internet connections and have trouble downloading from PSN, which often gives very slow download speeds as it fails to completely utilize your bandwidth. Use the following guide to download stuff from PSN onto your PC at blazing fast rates and then transferring them to your PC.

The thing you will be needing are as follows:

    • A PlayStation 3 (model doesn’t matter)
    • A PC running Windows.
    • A modem or router to make a network between the PC and PS3.
    • PS3 Proxy Server GUI (download links at the bottom)

    Lets get started.

    1. Download and install PS3 Proxy Server GUI on your PC, you need to have Microsoft’s .NET Framework 1.1 installed. Do note a newer version won’t be any help, you need 1.1 to make it work.
    2. After installing go to the Program Folder since the program doesn’t make a desktop icon, then go into the folder called “CF3B5″
    3. Click on the PS3 Proxy Server GUI application icon which will open the program.
    4. Find out the IP of your computer (local IP)
    5. Write down the IP into the IP Address section in the PS3 Proxy Server GUI program, leave the ports option as 8080.
    6. Click start.
    7. Now onto the PS3, create a new custom Internet connection.
    8. Select yes and type out the Proxy server when asked to, enter than same IP as you typed in the PS3 Proxy Server GUI. Again leaves the ports as 8080.
    9. Now after all of that is done navigate to the PlayStation store or start a game to download the patch you want.
    10. Stop it after the download has started.
    11. Now back to your PC, click the logs tab in PS3 Proxy Server GUI.
    12. Copy the first link and paste it into your download manager, I use IDM so I just had to click on add URL and then ok.
    13. When the file is downloaded click on the replace tab, then click on add.
    14. Paste the link of the file you downloaded in the left bar and paste the location of the file you download into the right bar.
    15. Now go back to the PS3 and download the file again, this time it should download much faster as it’s now downloading for the proxy server i.e your PC.

Like almost every Samsung Galaxy S II owner who is running the stock ROM on their phone (like me) you’re probably waiting for Android 2.3.4 but it looks like we might get something even better. PocketNow reports that an Android 2.3.5 ROM for the Galaxy S II dated back to 15th September has been leaked and is now available for download.

The announcement was made by SamFirmware a site popular for leaking Samsung ROMs and some of the guys behind DarkyROM on of the more popular Android ROMs. Do note guys this ROM is only for the international variant of the Galaxy S II and not of the recently announced US variants. • iTunes 10.5 Beta 6.1 With iTunes Match Now Available For Download (Windows And Mac)

Apple has added iTunes 10.5 BETA 6.1 to their US developer channel (to be available in other regions soon) and is now available for download. The only major change in this BETA is the addition of iTunes Match which enables you to upload your audio files to Apple’s iCloud service.

Using iTunes Match you can sync you entire music collection with iCloud for a free of $25 per year. The service will only upload music from your collection which is not already available on iTunes, all music that is available on iTunes will be streamed to your PC, Mac or iOS Device directly from the cloud in it’s original 256kbps AAC glory.

The service could prove to be very handy and help save storage space across your devices. There are a few bugs in the service though like you can’t add music to iCloud from more than one computer at one time and there is minor playback lag when playing the files on your iOS devices. Expected these and other bugs to be fixed in the BETA. Developers were also told to backup their entire iTunes libraries since Apple could delete files from their iCloud accounts at anytime during the BETA.

  • Download The Google Plus App For Android Here

Yes guys Google’s second run in the social networking race Google Plus (or Google+ as the logo suggests) has finally hit BETA. The network is currently invite only but if you have managed to get one then good for you. Currently there are two options to access Google+ on mobile devices, an HTML 5 version which can be accessed through a mobile browser and a native full blown app for Android with additional features.

The only downside to the app is that it’s not available worldwide so you would need to either fake your provider using MarketEnabler from the Android Market place or directly download the app from the download link at the end of this article and install it using a file manager. There’s also an introduction video to the app below.
