  • Entourage Season 8 Finale

All good things must come to an end! While not one out of ten million Entourage fans would agree, it’s time to end the 8 year long ride! The show that gave HBO new meaning after The Sopranos, by displaying the glamorous life of a Hollywood star and what it takes to stay on top, is in its eighth and final season as we speak. The last season features 8 episodes only, the shortest of the series. The creators of the show have made it clear that everyone will end well, judging from what they’ve revealed so far, all doesn’t look well. With just two episodes left, I have no clue how they will turn the whole story around when they’ve left so many unanswered questions and so many episodes wasted with Sasha Grey. Read on.

I still have high hopes for the series finale though, like The Sopranos, HBO knows how to maintain quality when it comes to ending a huge series. Rumors of an Entourage Movie are also in the air and I really hope they make one, but it doesn’t mean they should end the show on a bad note. The seventh episode titled “Second To Last” is set to air next week while the season and series finale will follow the week after.

I speak for all of the Entourage fans when I say we don’t want the show to end so soon, it’s been one hell of a ride and we were willing for eight more seasons! But let’s wait and see how the end shapes up. It could either be the finale we are hoping for, or it could be a cheap way to make people wait for the movie to come out, either way Entourage has been a part of my life and It will never be forgotten! • Entourage Season 8 Finale Review

The season finale of Entourage just aired two days ago and I hated it so much I didn’t even feel like posting the review I promised. Yes folks, HBO has done it again, they’ve managed to end another epic series in the most horrifying of ways. Let’s go back to season one to know why this blogger (and almost every Entourage fan) is mad at the finale. Entourage started off as a show about friends, a group of friends living together, it was about the feeling of brotherhood and what it felt like to share the same house and car. It showed us what it felt like to share your fame with the people you love, with the people who surround you, your entourage. Over the years the show has groomed into an amazing series, from the boys coming from nothing to becoming big in Hollywood, it was an awesome ride. The thing I loved about Entourage is the inside look it gave of Hollywood and how life is with people there. Every scene inside a real studio or with a real director (James Cameron appeared in several episodes as himself) were just so involving and inviting. It made me want to be a part of that lifestyle.

Entourage showed me parts of Hollywood I never knew existed, the money-hungry agents, the blood-thirsty studios fighting over movie scripts and directors, the high-end executive class hotels and restaurants which were only accessible by a chosen few. The private jets, the hotel suites, all of which were shot in their real forms is what made Entourage so amazing. But ever since Season 6 started off, it slowly lost its touch. It slowly became a show about women, about girlfriends, about relationships. I thought it was just a segue into something even greater, but it just kept progressing in that same digressing stage. Season 7 really kicked it up a notch by introducing Sasha Grey, the porn star, in the mix. She played herself the entire season of ten episodes and drove it down deeper in the ground.

Season 8 was announced as the last season. I thought it was going to be an amazing piece of work. I thought it was going to be Entourage’s way of showing its fans how good it can make a comeback. But alas, it kicked it up a much greater notch towards being lame and slow. The last season was announced to have a mere eight episodes and it was supposed to be the “complete” end to Entourage. But the season was a complete waste of writing and recording. It was eight episodes, each driving the fans’ expectations more down the ground. It had about two good episodes, but the rest were just a waste.

Now to the finale, when it comes to a SERIES FINALE its a big thing. The finale was supposed to sum everything up. It was thirty minutes of the most pathetic writing I’ve seen in TV history. Sophia, the morale-high journalist, was supposedly OKAY with marrying a Hollywood star just after a day of dating him? Vince, the Hollywood star, who would never even think of settling down, was okay with MARRYING a girl he hardly knows? Ari, the biggest and most powerful agent in the business, was crying and moping like a little girl? Drama had no role in the episode at all except for being Drama. Turtle, who supposedly became a millionaire in the last episode, doesn’t even mention the business in this one? Sloan, the super-hot girl with a decided mind, was ready to travel with Eric alone in a private jet? IS THIS ENTOURAGE OR A DISNEY MOVIE?!

They’re making a movie now, I just hope it’s not as sappy as this. Whatever happened to the show where the guys were riding in their newly bought Rolls Royce jamming to “99 Problems”? Entourage will be missed.

  • Entourage Season 8 Episode 4: Whiz Kid

It’s game night and I just got done watching! The fourth episode of Entourage season 8 is titled “Whiz Kid”. Continuing directly from where we were last, Carl shot himself and Vince was at his house with Turtle when it had happened. Now they show police and a lot of media (including TMZ) outside the house. Vince is with his buddies and answering some questions asked by the authorities. Ari, on the other hand, is still with Dana Gordon. I really liked what these two had going but I knew it would be short-lived. We move on to the crime scene again, Ari and Vince’s publicist Shauna both arrive and call the lawyer too, Jim from season 7. I remember this guy from “Quiz Show”, one of the most awesome movies ever made. So the lawyer preps Vince and Turtle for the questions and the scene takes us to the next with Vince and E in the car.

Vince tells E that he smoked a joint last week, although it was only to prove to himself that he wasn’t an addict, he still had to take a drug test. So the guys get a lot of home cures to get it out of his system. Johnny Drama gets giant bottles of vinegar for him to drink. But Vince, given a very short amount of time before the test, heads out to Billy Walsh’ place. Considering how Billy himself was a raging addict once, he seeks his help in this predicament. While Ari is late for his couple’s therapy that he himself asked his wife for. Mrs. Ari is furious and walks out. Ari sets up a dinner date with Dana, surprisingly at the same restaurant whose owner is dating his wife.

Billy Walsh tells Vince that the only way to save himself from the drug test is to get a prosthetic thing attached (if you know what I mean). Vince agrees and gets it done. While outside the drug test room, Vince talks to E and tells him about Billy’s helping “invention”. E totally flips out and tells him not to do it otherwise, if caught, he’d be in a bigger predicament. Ari and Dana are at the dinner when Mr. Bobby Flay, the owner of the restaurant and the guy who’s dating Ari’s wife shows up and makes them really uncomfortable. Dana realizes Ari was kind of using her to show off and storms out the place. Ari’s wife calls in a furious tone and complains at the same time. Last scene, the guys waiting for the drug result at their apartment, Ari shows up to join the gang. Jim, the lawyer, calls to tell them the result. It’s negative and Vince gets calm. E asks him if he still used the “instrument” and he accepts it. The guys all get happy in the end.

It was a nice progression to the end of an amazing show. They are showing that the guys are getting back on their feet one step at a time. With the drug test out of the way Vince can finally focus on Drama’s movie and his own movie “Air Walker”. Ari’s wife showed she still cared when she called to scold him. Nothing about E & Sloan though so I reckon it’s finally over. Can not wait for the next episode. Be sure to catch the review here!
