While upgrading your iPhone, iPad or iPod to a newer firmware for an untethered Jailbreak to witness additional features and tweaks on Cydia, you might have encountered problems with error codes such as 1013, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604 etc which describes that your iDevice could not be restored and the requested build isn’t eligible for your iDevice.

Don’t Panic. There are two methods to fix these types of error.

    Easy Way: TinyUmbrella

Step 1. Download TinyUmbrella for Mac or Windows.

Step 2. Launch TinyUmbrella and go to the “Advanced” tab.

Step 3.  Uncheck the box that says “Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit (If you need a clean restore from Apple, uncheck this box)”

    Step 4. Close TinyUmbrella.

    Hard Way: Edit Files Manually

    For MAC:

Step 1. Make sure you are logged in as the administrator.

    Step 2. Open Finder.

Step 3. Hold down COMMAND + SHIFT keys and press “G”

Step 4. Enter “/private/etc/” in the field and press “Go”

Step 5. Find “hosts” file in the directory.

Step 6. Drag the file to your desktop.

Step 7. Open it in text editor.

Step 8. Remove the line that has gs.apple.com entirely or put a # at the beginning of it to comment it out.

    Step 9. Save the file.

Step 10. Drag it back to the /private/etc/ folder.

Step 11. Enter your username and password to authenticate.

    For Windows:

    • Windows NT/2000/XP Pro (C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts).
    • Windows XP, Vista, 7 (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts).

Step 2. Right click on it and choose “Open With…” then click on “Notepad”.

  • How to Fix iTunes and Appstore’s “Invalid Address” Error

Apple just recently changed the way it validates addresses on iTunes accounts, this means that if you have a US iTunes account with a fake address or one generated from any service like fakenamegenerator you will get an error that says “Invalid Address”.

The solution to this problem is fairly simple. All you have to do is replace your fake address with this address:

    1 Infinite Loop
    Cupertino
    CA 95014
    Number: 408 996 1010

This is the address of Apple headquarters by the way. Just change the address on your iTunes account and you’re good to go.
