  • How to unlock Nexus 4 Bootloader

Google just took the covers off of its latest and greatest Nexus 4. Manufactured by LG this phone packs in some serious firepower. With a Qualcomm S4 Pro chip and a beautiful 720p display, this is the most powerful Android phone available yet. And because it’s a Nexus, it means its begging to be poked and prodded with. But as it is with any Android, before you go on rooting or installing custom ROMs, you will need to unlock the bootloader. This guide will help you unlock Nexus 4 bootloader.

Nexus 4 570x309 How to unlock Nexus 4 Bootloader

Unlocking the bootloader will wipe your memory so be sure to backup all important data. Make sure your phone is full charged.

Step 1- Download the Android SDK

Step 2- Enable debugging mode on your phone

Step 3- Download fastboot and extract it android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory. If this directory is not present, create it.

Step 4- Backup all your data and switch off the phone.

Step 5- Enter the bootloader/fastboot. Do this by pressing volume down + power key for a few seconds. You will know when the phone enters the bootloader. This allows your fastboot to connect with your phone.

Step 6- Open the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory. Open command prompt (windows key +R and enter cmd.exe)

Step 7- In the command prompt, enter the following: fastboot oem unlock

Step 8- Follow the instructions and proceed to wipe all data. Your phone will automatically reboot

After step 8 is done successfully your phone will have an unlocked bootloader. This will then allow you to install custom ROMs and whatnot.

  • 32GB model for Nexus 7 appears again, this time on Staples Advantage website

After making an appearance on a Spanish retailer’s website and on several other sites, the 32GB model of Nexus 7 is back to tease us all again. AndroidPolice reports that the new model of Nexus 7 tablet with upgraded storage was seen on retailer Staples Advantage’s site. The tablet appeared in a search result of Staples website for business users.

nexus7 32 32GB model for Nexus 7 appears again, this time on Staples Advantage website

According to the site, 32GB version of Nexus 7 will be available on October 18th and will cost $248.37. Interestingly according to Staples site the price of the 32 gig model of Nexus 7 is almost $3 less than the 16 gig model, which is really strange. One explanation for this could be that Google wants to kill the 16GB model in the coming days and sell the 32GB model at the same price. But if that’s the case then why not kill the smaller 8GB model and continue selling the better 16GB and 32GB models? Well it seems like Google does not want to miss the $199 price mark of 8GB model and cannot sell the 16GB model of Nexus 7 for that price.

While there is a lot of confusion regarding the pricing and availability of the 32GB Nexus 7, as October 18 launch date does not seem possible as this leak suggests at this point of time, we certainly know that the 32GB model of Nexus 7 is coming following all these leaks thanks to the retailers from around the world.

  • Purported Nexus 10 manual leaks ahead of expected October 29th announcement

When it comes to leaking before launch, LG Nexus 4 is the king of all Nexuses and Android smartphones at large. nexus10manual2 Purported Nexus 10 manual leaks ahead of expected October 29th announcement

The manual book i.e titled as ‘Nexus 10 – Quick Start Guide’ is small in size just like any other manual you have seen before. Inside it details the design of the upcoming Nexus 10 tablet while showing users about the ports, speakers, cameras, buttons, and LED present on the device. The device as seen in the photo of leaked manual below looks very different than the Nexus 7, which comes as a surprise for us, as we too like everyone else were expecting a Nexus 7 like design, that is liked by almost everyone. On the back the device has a strip of an unknown material (could be metal or plastic) in which the camera and flash is located – it is a good news if you were expecting the Nexus 10 to lack a camera like its smaller 7 inch cousin.

A user by the name of drl337md posted a video on YouTube showing off ICS running on the Nexus One and that too quite smoothly for an initial port I might add.

The almost two year old Nexus One is proving to be quite a fighter, suprisingly able to run Android 4.0 packing just a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM while the first ICS phone the Galaxy Nexus packs a blazing fast 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM.
