  • Street Fighter X Tekken Gets Crossed with InFamous

You got another reason to get a PS Vita and a copy of Street Fighter x Tekken on PS Vita. Today at Sony’s Conference Capcom announced that the PS Vita version of the Street Fighter X Tekken shall feature Cole from the famous InFamous franchise. Capcom played a short demo of the game and in the Demo Cole had it’s whirlwind and electricity attacks. Cole seems to be a pretty good character to play with. We are curious to see how the game shall be using the touched based controls of PS Vita or will it use them at all.

  • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance PS Vita Won’t Be Possible Due To A ‘Lack Of Power’

Sad news for PS Vita owners who wanted some of that watermelon slashing action in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, looks like the game won’t be possible on the portable console.

Speaking with Eurogamer at Gamescom the game’s creative producer Yuji Korekado from Kojima Productions explained:

As of now we aren’t considering a Vita version. The reason is one of the main appeals of Metal Gear Rising is this option of the free cut.

That requires a lot of hardware power, which is only possible with the power of a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360. So as of now, we haven’t contemplated bringing it to handheld consoles,

If you haven’t been following up on the game, Rising features free cut blade mode allowing Raiden to slash through anything except building. Rendering so many ‘diceable’ items on screen at once could prove to be very hard for the Vita.

  • Playstation Vita Release Date Leaked

According to a flier released by Block Buster UK, PlayStation Vita release date was shown as October 28. Whether this news is authentic or not, it has yet to be confirmed.

This was reported by IGN, Block Buster UK released a new flier which listed the upcoming games and consoles. It contained a listing for PlayStation Vita as can be seen below. The listing showed a 28th October release date and a launch price of 229.99 euro for the Wi-Fi only model. The 3G model was listed as 279.99 euros.

This price is a little expensive as compared to the US. The official price for US was $250 for the Wi-Fi only model while if we convert this European price to US, we will get $330.

It is still unconfirmed whether this is for Europe only or it is a global launch date. Japan will be getting Playstation Vita on 12th December, 2011 as announced by Kaz Hirai during this year’s E3. Sony previously said that PS Vita will launch in Japan and US first before making its debut in Europe. This news makes it look like Europe will be likely getting this handled first but like we said, it is a rumor only so far so better wait for the official launch date.

Recently, Nintendo slashed the price of 3DS from $250 to $170. This was a surprise as 3DS has been barely out for a few months now. The PlayStation Vita, being the direct competitor to 3DS, needs to have a stronger launch in order to benefit Sony.
