When Street Fighter x Tekken was announced two years back, Tekken fans were not completely satisfied. Although they would be seeing their favourite characters again, they just wouldn’t be the same in a 2D environment. This meant that if Tekken fans wanted to play this, they’d have to learn from scratch. But, what most of us have forgotten, is that Namco announced that it would be creating it’s own version of the game, called Tekken x Street Fighter. This would feature the Street Fighter characters in a 3D environment, like in the Tekken games. This is what the Tekken fans have been waiting for.

As I said, most of us had forgotten about this. And why wouldn’t we? There has not been any major announcement for two years now. Eventually a question presented itself: Will this game be released for the current generation of video game consoles? Or is Namco planning to release this in the next generation? Obviously, this got fans worried. Well, there is some good news for them.
“There’s still a large number of players out there with a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 who are looking forward to the game,” Producer Katsuhiro Harada told Eurogamer, “so we feel it’s probably more relevant to get the title out to them on the current hardware. We’re not completely sure, but that’s the direction at this moment.”
There you go. Namco is still working on the game, and it has not yet been lost. Hopefully, there will be some major news in the following months which will enlighten us on the status of the game. Rejoice Tekken fans!
