  • Street Fighter X Tekken Gets Crossed with InFamous

You got another reason to get a PS Vita and a copy of Street Fighter x Tekken on PS Vita. Today at Sony’s Conference Capcom announced that the PS Vita version of the Street Fighter X Tekken shall feature Cole from the famous InFamous franchise. Capcom played a short demo of the game and in the Demo Cole had it’s whirlwind and electricity attacks. Cole seems to be a pretty good character to play with. We are curious to see how the game shall be using the touched based controls of PS Vita or will it use them at all.

Are you excited for Street Fighter X Tekken, so are we. In this stunningly beautiful cinematic trailer shown at Comic Con, we are introduced with new characters which are Poison and Hugo. See the trailer and new screens after the break.

Capcom has really got a talent when it comes to the art style used in such trailers. They started using such quality cinematics after the release of Street Fighter 4. This new cinematic style looks awesome in motion and makes for some nicely rendered and beautifully animated cell shaded scenes.

Capcom has also officially announced some new characters including Poison which are Steve Fox, Yoshimitsu and Dhalsim. This makes for 2 characters from Capcom and 2 from Namco Bandai’s Tekken series.

To summarize these new characters were recently announced.

    2. Steve Fox

  • Tekken x Street Fighter still in Development

When Street Fighter x Tekken was announced two years back, Tekken fans were not completely satisfied. Although they would be seeing their favourite characters again, they just wouldn’t be the same in a 2D environment. This meant that if Tekken fans wanted to play this, they’d have to learn from scratch. But, what most of us have forgotten, is that Namco announced that it would be creating it’s own version of the game, called Tekken x Street Fighter. This would feature the Street Fighter characters in a 3D environment, like in the Tekken games. This is what the Tekken fans have been waiting for.

Artwork by Harada-San – The only updates on the development of the game

As I said, most of us had forgotten about this. And why wouldn’t we? There has not been any major announcement for two years now. Eventually a question presented itself: Will this game be released for the current generation of video game consoles? Or is Namco planning to release this in the next generation? Obviously, this got fans worried. Well, there is some good news for them.

“There’s still a large number of players out there with a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 who are looking forward to the game,” Producer Katsuhiro Harada told Eurogamer, “so we feel it’s probably more relevant to get the title out to them on the current hardware. We’re not completely sure, but that’s the direction at this moment.”

There you go. Namco is still working on the game, and it has not yet been lost. Hopefully, there will be some major news in the following months which will enlighten us on the status of the game. Rejoice Tekken fans!
