  • Verizon’s new Galaxy S III update cripples connectivity

Samsung Galaxy S III owners on Verizon got a much awaited update recently which was supposed to bring much needed software improvements like the Multi-Window View and Best Shot camera mode to name a few. This may sound good but the update has crippled connectivity with many of the Galaxy S III as they are unable to connect to the Verizon 4G and 3G networks.

Some users are able to connect to the 3G network but that means generally slower speeds on the nation’s fast 4G network while other aren’t getting a signal at all.

The update also adds more bloatware in the form of a Verizon’s Caller Name ID app with users complaining that they’ve been added automatically into the program that costs $3 per month.

  • HTC Incredible S Locks Down Custom Roms

11x0324mn83cavxhtc HTC Incredible S Locks Down Custom Roms

So it seems just like the recently release HTC Thunderbolt the HTC Incredible S too is locking down against the use of custom roms. So it wasn’t just Verizon who wanted the phone locked to it’s default rom but HTC had a lot to do with it as well. The phone features a signature check when flashing recovery images so if you want to install a custom roms, the rom’s signature must match the default rom’s signature! So our best bet is to wait for someone to get us the password locked away in a utopia under the sea guarded by mermen.

  • More Motorola Droid 3 Details Leaked

Most of you have probably seen the above leaked image of the Droid 3 before but the thing we’re all wondering are what’s inside that slim and shining body. Technobuffalo seems to have obtained some new information thanks to a reliable tipster.

The screen seems to be upgraded to a 4-inch qHD variant, powered by a dual core processor most probably the Tegra 2 variant just like the Droid X2. Other features include a new 5 row keyboard, a front facing camera for video calls and a brand new 8 megapixel sensor on the back. The only let down is no LTE support but that’s a good thing since Verizon hasn’t been properly able to provide 4G coverage across the US. No LTE could give better battery life too, so we’ll leave it for the Droid 4.

He also said that the HTC DLX has a 12-megapixel camera, while AndroidCentral’s reports about a 8-megapixel camera.

The phone will be running Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread right out of the box.

The HTC Vigor is set to hit Verizon sometime in October just after the Motorola Droid Bionic.
