Disney D23 2026 Spotlights Marvel and Star Wars Slate

Disney used its annual D23 fan gathering in 2026 to present new promotional material for upcoming Marvel and Star Wars projects. The event included an X-Men cast presentation, a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday, and previews for Disney Plus series and the wider Star Wars slate.

Marvel and Star Wars remain two of Disney’s most important entertainment brands, spanning theatrical releases and its streaming service. D23 gives the company a direct way to build interest in projects before their public marketing campaigns fully begin.

Marvel’s next screen projects took the stage

The Marvel portion of the presentation introduced the cast for the studio’s upcoming X-Men film. The movie will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, placing the mutant team within the same broad franchise as the Avengers films.

Disney also showed a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. The footage offered D23 attendees another look at the next Avengers installment, though Disney did not provide plot information in the material described from the event.

VisionQuest, a planned Disney Plus project, also received either a trailer or an early first-look presentation. Its appearance keeps Marvel’s streaming plans in the spotlight alongside its larger theatrical releases.

Star Wars previews covered television and film

On the Star Wars side, Disney presented a teaser for season two of Ahsoka. The series is part of the franchise’s Disney Plus lineup and continues to make television a major venue for new Star Wars stories.

Star Wars: Starfighter received a special-look presentation at the gathering. Its inclusion alongside Ahsoka showed Disney promoting both the franchise’s streaming output and a separate upcoming project during the same event.

The stakes are significant for Disney because these properties support a connected pipeline of films and Disney Plus programming. A new X-Men entry expands the MCU’s roster, while fresh Star Wars material helps sustain one of the service’s defining franchises between major releases.

Disney did not provide release dates for the projects covered in the presentation. The company also did not identify the X-Men cast members in the available event details, describe the trailers’ story content, or clarify whether the VisionQuest footage was a full trailer or a first look.
