Angela Sant'Albano Reportedly Eyed for Tides of Annihilation

Angela Sant’Albano is reportedly being considered to replace Jennifer English as Gwendolyn’s voice in Eclipse Glow Games’ upcoming action game Tides of Annihilation. English, who previously voiced the protagonist, withdrew from the role last month, according to reports from Eurogamer and PC Gamer.

Sant’Albano is known for performing Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem. Fans connected her to Gwendolyn after a Tides of Annihilation demo appeared at an event in Shanghai with changes to the character’s appearance and voice.

Fan observations point to a new voice for Gwendolyn

The identification gained further traction after Jennifer Prime, Gwendolyn’s motion-capture performer, replied to social-media posts about Sant’Albano in a way that appeared to endorse the fans’ conclusion. Prime’s involvement also suggests that the character’s physical performance and spoken dialogue may remain separate parts of the production.

Eclipse Glow Games has said that English continued to help search for her successor. The developer also said the performer selected for the part impressed English and the development team through recent work in video games.

The recast affects the game’s central character

Gwendolyn is the lead character in a game that Eclipse Glow Games is developing in China, making the change significant for players following its public demos. A new voice can affect how audiences read the character across future trailers and gameplay showcases, especially when the previous actor left close to the game’s continued promotional cycle.

The Shanghai footage has given fans their first apparent clue about the replacement, while Prime’s performance-capture role provides a point of continuity for Gwendolyn. Sant’Albano’s work on Resident Evil Requiem has also made her a recognizable name among players tracking the speculation.

Neither Sant’Albano nor Eclipse Glow Games has formally confirmed that she has been hired. It remains unclear whether she would handle any performance-capture work, when the studio will announce English’s replacement, or whether the Shanghai demo reflects Gwendolyn’s final performance in the released game.
