Huawei has officially confirmed the Ascend D Quad which they claim is “the world’s fastest smartphone” which to be honest is a huge brand boost for the Chinese company. Huawei is mostly known for it’s low end carrier phones but looks it wants to be a serious competitor in the smartphone market with the Ascend D Quad.
The Ascend runs Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is powered by a quad core 1.2/1.5GHz processor which is probably of NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 variant. There’s also a 4.5-inch 720p display, 8MP 1080p back camera, 1.3MP front, 1800 mAh battery and a 8.9mm thin chassis.
Huawei also announced two other high end Android smartphones – the Ascend D Quad XL and the Ascend D1. The Ascend D Quad XL is basically the same phone but with a bigger 2500 mAh battery ala the Droid RAZR Maxx while the Ascend D1 is an ICS phone with a 1670 mAh battery and dual core 1.2GHz processor.
