  • Metal Gear Solid fan game “Shadow Moses” gets canceled

Shadow Moses was an independent “fan project” that was announced last year in October through a Youtube video. The project was to put the first MGS game through Unreal Engine 4 and let players enjoy the original classic MGS with an extremely enhanced graphical experience.

Soon after the initial trailer for the game was released, it went viral. With over 100k views in just a few days. Fans of the series were excited for this one.

Sadly, things didn’t go as planned and the creators of the game recently posted this on their Facebook Page:

    Hi guys!

We have an important announcement to make today:

We have to cancel the Shadow Moses Project for reasons beyond our control.

We would like to thank everyone for the tremendous support we have received.

    Shadow Moses team.

Whether this happened because of a legal action taken by Konami or not is still unknown as the Shadow Moses team hasn’t posted anything about the cancelation since then.

The team is also said to reveal something “big” on March, 14th.

    We’ll keep you posted.

  • Guild Wars 2 Release Date Announced

Since the start of this year the web has been filled with requests and speculations regarding the release of Guild Wars 2. The action packed MMO has been in development since 2007 and since then has gathered a massive fan following.

Yesterday NCsoft (Publisher) and ArenaNet (Developer) finally announced that Guild Wars 2 will officially launch on Tuesday, August 28th of this year simultaneously in North America and Europe for the PC.

Fall could be a very dangerous time for Guild Wars 2. World of Warcraft’s next expansion, Mists of Pandaria is going to be out soon and we all know how Blizzard has kept most of the MMO market under it’s thumb. However, seeing the response ArenaNet got from their earlier beta events, it can be said that Guild Wars 2 just might keep it’s head high.

The MMO has landed on top of every “Most anticipated MMO” list and after playing the beta I personally have to congratulate ArenaNet on doing a fine job. The world they have created looks achingly beautiful and the game mechanics are easy to grasp. In addition the the game is a one time buy only with no monthly subscription cost.

The official announcement of the release date also mentioned that the next two months are going to be spent in further polishing and optimizing the game. ArenaNet is trying it’s best for a smooth launch and in doing so has announced one last beta weekend event which is planned for July 20-22.

So will 2012 really be the Year of the Dragon? We’ll know in two months time.

  • Watch Dogs runs at 30fps on PS4 and Xbox One

Creative director Watch Dogs Jonathan Morin told VideoGamer.com that upcoming Ubisoft flagship title Watch Dogs will be running at 30fps on both PS4 and Xbox One.

Right now the frame rate we’re focusing on [is] a steady 30[FPS],

There’s always a balance, especially for open world, between the simulation and the rest.

I think for where we are, the most important thing is the steadiness and [ensuring] that it’s always capped the same so when you play it it feels right.

Although the game has been confirmed for 30fps Morin wouldn’t confirm what the resolution the game would be running on.

Watch Dogs arrives on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC and Xbox One on November 22nd. The PS4 version arrives a week later on the 29th of November.

  • Killzone: Mercenary – An Exclusive FPS For PS Vita

If you’re one of those who were skeptical to get a Vita because it lacked killer titles, then we’ve got some good news for you.

This year at Gamescom 2012, home turf of one of the subsidiaries of Sony, Guerrilla Games, Killzone: Mercenary, an FPS title exclusive to Vita, and a spin-off to the original Killzone series, was announced.

Killzone: Mercenary, like most spin-offs, will be quite different from the core Killzone series. This time you’ll be put in the shoes of a mercenary who works with both Helghast and ISA. This is big news as this is the first time in Killzone’s history that you will get to work with the Helghast. DEATH TO THE ISA!

And what more is that this handheld spin-off is being made by Guerrilla Games themselves and not out-sourcing the title to some other development studio to make a sub-par Killzone game. Moreover, Mercenary is being developed using the Killzone 3 engine, which no wonder makes the game look fabulous for a handheld.

Check out the amazing announcement trailer below, featuring half live-action and half-screenswiping gameplay action.

Details at the moment are pretty scarce, but Sony promised to reveal more soon.

Killzone: Mercenary is scheduled to be released at some point next year.

  • That New Pokemon Isn’t Mewthree, But A New Form Of Mewtwo

Remember that Mewtwo like Pokemon Nintendo teased a few days ago? Well it seems that Pokemon isn’t Mewthree like the most of us though and instead is a brand new Mewtwo form.

See Mewtwo transform into his new form in the video below:

We still don’t have a name for Mewtwo’s new form yet but we’ll probably hear more soon as Nintendo reveals more Pokemon and information about Pokemon X and Y in the coming months. There’s also a new Pokemon movie coming soon, so we’ll probably see this new form there. Pokemon X and Y are the sixth generation Pokemon games and the first games in the main series to be in full 3D.

Catch Mewtwo in the Nintendo 3DS exclusive Pokemon X and Y hitting stores worldwide this October.

Update: Apparently the form is called Awakened Mewtwo.
