  • No iPad 3 Or A6 Chips Until June 2012 At The Earliest?

According to recent reports it was suggested that Taiwanese chipmaker (TSMC) had started work for the next generation Apple mobile processor and the successor to the iPad 2′s A5. The report claimed that the chip would be “publicly unveiled” the second quarter of 201 but according to a recent report by CNET Linley Group analyst Kevin Krewell has filed a research note which claims that production of the A6 chip will not start before A2 2011 so a public reveal in an Apple device is not expected before June.

The Apple A6 processor is set to debut in the iPad 3 if Apple stays true to it’s yearly fresh cycle as the A4 debuted in the original iPad and the A5 debuted in the iPad 2.

A final version of the chip will enter production in 2Q12 ‘at the earliest’… We believe this timing makes sense,” Krewell said. “This pace would make the A6 one of the first 28 [nanometer] mobile processors (along with Qualcomm’s MSM8960) to enter production. This schedule, however, breaks Apple’s annual processor-upgrade cycle and will delay any products using the A6 until at least June 2012.

It’s also rumored that the A6 processor will be a quad core chip and will use 3D Transistor Technology similar the Tri-Gate technology being used by Intel for their processors.

The rumored A6 is a major step-up in chip design. Not only does it contain four processor cores (the existing Apple A5 has two cores) but will use so-called 3D technology, Linley Group senior analyst Kevin Krewell said this week in a research note, citing a report in the Taiwan Economic News. The 3D tech is roughly analogous to Intel’s 3D technology announced in May.

So what do you guys think? Will Apple release an A5 based iPad 3 with the rumored Retina Display or will they wait till after June and release an iPad 3 with the quad core A6 processor?

Yes folks the long rumored Galaxy Tab 8.9 has been finally announced by Samsung. There isn’t much to say about this tablet, it’s almost just like it’s 10.1-inch big brother apart from the screen.

The 8.6mm thin tablet comes with Android Honeycomb and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI out of the box. The tablet will also be available in an LTE flavor very soon. Other specs haven’t been confirmed yet but we presume it’s gonna be an upgraded processor like the recently announced Galaxy S II LTE.

Sony Computer Entertainment America Selects AT&T as Exclusive U.S. Wireless Provider for PlayStation®Vita

Nation’s Fastest Mobile Broadband Provider to Power Revolutionary Portable Entertainment System

LOS ANGELES, June 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) and AT&T* today announced that AT&T, which powers the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network, will be the exclusive service provider in the United States for PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita), Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) next generation portable entertainment system.

The PlayStation Vita system offers a revolutionary combination of rich gaming capabilities and social connectivity that will bring users closer to each other and closer to their gaming experiences wherever they are. Blurring the lines between interactive entertainment and reality, PS Vita provides unparalleled portable gaming experiences with dual analog sticks, front and rear cameras, front multi-touch display, multi-touch rear pad, GPS, six-axis motion sensors, and three-axis electronic compass. The speed and coverage of AT&T’s mobile broadband network will ensure that PS Vita users will remain connected to content and each other on the go. PlayStation Vita customers with an AT&T service plan will also have free access at more than 24,000 AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots nationwide.

“AT&T’s mobile broadband network excels at delivering data with high speeds nationwide, which is what we need for powering the social and connectivity features built into the PlayStation Vita portable entertainment system,” said Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America. “PlayStation Vita will give users the opportunity to engage and connect with one another while delivering the kind of rich and immersive gaming experiences unimaginable on any other portable device on the market today.”

“AT&T consumers are accustomed to being the first to have access to the most cutting-edge mobile technologies available on the market today,” said Glenn Lurie, president, emerging devices, AT&T. “We are thrilled to continue this legacy as the exclusive provider for PlayStation Vita in the U.S. market. By pairing the nation’s fastest mobile broadband network and the nation’s largest Wi-Fi network with this highly anticipated portable gaming device, PlayStation Vita users will experience a new era of portable gaming that will connect their entertainment and their lives more closely than ever.”

AT&T wireless connectivity will enable infinite possibilities for PlayStation Vita users to “encounter,” “connect,” “discover,” “share” and “play” with friends on the go. Within the device are a range of social networking features that provide unique, next generation portable entertainment experiences, including a new application called “near” and an interactive interface called “LiveArea™.”

Developed specifically for PlayStation Vita and pre-installed on each system, “near” will allow users to find out what other PS Vita users in their vicinity are currently playing and what titles are most popular in the area. Users can meet with friends and new players virtually – regardless of what games they are playing – simply by sharing their game information across PlayStation®Network on the go via AT&T’s mobile network, or when they’re at a Wi-Fi hotspot. “Near” also enables location-based gaming features such as “gifting,” in which a user can access virtual game-related items that other users are sharing, through checking in at geographic locations that others have also visited. The virtual items can include content unlocked from games, such as character costumes, weapons and treasures. Sharing these items between users adds a unique dimension to the portable gaming experience on PlayStation Vita while enhancing the social connectivity among the PS Vita community.

“LiveArea™” is an interactive space for each PlayStation Vita software title in which users can access the latest information for games through PlayStation Network. Additionally, users will be able to view an “Activity” log that is constantly updated with accomplishments from users who are playing the same game, which in turn can trigger active real-time communication among users. The AT&T wireless network will enable “LiveArea™” users to connect to their games on the go.

The PlayStation Vita system will have both Wi-Fi and 3G/Wi-Fi models in the US for $249 and $299, respectively. Additional details about AT&T data plans and pricing will be announced later.

  • Renderings of the iPhone 5 Based on Leaked Design Specs

CiccareseDesign has created high quality renderings of the iPhone 5 based on leaked case designs. Interestingly, at the time these design specifications were posted MacRumors said they “received a reliable tip that this is not what the iPhone 5 will look like.”

    The images after the break

The final dimensions of the new design are calculated to be: 4.33″ x 2.36″ and .27″ thickness at the top and .21″ at the bottom In comparison, the iPhone 4 dimensions are: 4.5″ x 2.31″ x .37″. So the new design is actually shorter than the existing iPhone 4, but slightly wider and thinner.

  • Images Of The iPhone 5 Touch Screen Leaked? Has A Larger Screen And Enlongated Home Button

Wintek manufactured the iPhone 4′s touch screens for around a year and a half and now these recently leaked pictures from their workspace suggests they are working on the iPhone 5 too.

The pictures look similar to the typical iPhone design except that that the display is a bit bigger and the home button is a bit longer. According to the source these images were taken from the security cameras recently installed in the Wintek factory, well that’s quite a fail.

Recent rumors have suggested a gesture supporting home button so maybe they could be working on that. Don’t get your hopes too high though, these could easily be of any other phone which looks similar to the iPhone, and there are a lot of them.

  • Radio Shack Getting Exclusive White HTC EVO 3D This September

Radioshack has announced that it will start selling a white variant of the HTC EVO 3D starting September 9th. We don’t have a quote on the price yet but we doubt it will be above the $200 price point Sprint is selling it for.

The phone is mostly white but the black bezel around then screen and the camera stay as they were. The ring of sort around the camera sensors is getting tricked out to a sliver color instead of red (Sprint version) or gold (GSM version).

  • Screenshots Of Sense 3.5 Running On HTC Bliss Leaked

Screenshots of HTC Sense 3.5 running on the upcoming ‘lady phone’ HTC Bliss have leaked on the Internet, so how does this differ from Sense 3.0?

Off the bat Sense 3.0 couldn’t run on single core phones (well not officially) because of all the flashy animations and eye candy but that changes with Sense 3.5 which is better optimized for both single and dual core phones.

The lockscreen stays mostly the same with the same wheel unlocking and shortcuts to your favorite applications. The lockscreen will now also show notifications for weather and other stats.

Widgets also get a refresh, being much polished this time. There are also a bunch of new HTC Sense exclusive widgets bundled with Sense 3.5, these widgets will be available in multiple sizes. Since Sense 3.5 is not gonna be limited to qHD screens anymore you can hide the lower portion of the UI and replace it with two buttons, one for your app drawer and the other for your phone to save screen real estate.

XDA.cn who got their hands on these screenshots first claim that this is just a BETA release and we can expect final version to be much more polished.
