How to: Unblock Facebook in Pakistan

On the morning of Friday, 22nd September, the Ministry of Information and Technology has blocked access to Facebook in Pakistan – Turns out it was just temporary, however, it would be wise to bookmark this link for when it happens again. This move came after the ruling by the supreme court to block social media website which spread religious hatred. We here at Techdeville believe in the freedom to use the internet as you please. Unlike the Luddites running this country, so the following is a nice and simple guide to get Facebook back up and running again on your PC. BTW this also works for schools and offices which have restricted the access to Facebook.

How to: Unblock Facebook in Pakistan

    Step One

Download ultrasurf from HERE and download it to your desktop.

    Step Two

    Extract the  file using Winrar.

    Step Three

Open the extracted folder and run the u1017 application.

The ultrasurf window will pop up and it will take round about a minute to connect to server. When connected it will notify you and launch Internet explorer.

    Step Four

And that’s it! Now your internet has been unrestricted and you’ll now be able to open any site you please.

We will update the article as soon as the government takes any measures to circumvent this access method, so hold on to this link.

Kindly “+1″ and “like” the article if this helps you out. Thanks!

New iPhone Models Coming In October According To Al Gore, Member Of The Apple Board Of Directors

Nobel Peace Prize winner and former vice president of the USA Al Gore has claimed that the new iPhones will be coming in October. He stated that “the new iPhones would be out next month” and by iPhones he probably meant the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S.

The iPhone 5 is rumored to be the true next generation iPhone and according to various reports will have a bigger screen, Apple’s A6 dual core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera with 1080p recording along with a HD Facetime front camera. The iPhone 5 will also feature a new metallic unibody design which is said to be lighter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy S II.

The iPhone 4S on the other hand is suppose to be the new budget iPhone and will be priced very aggressively so that everyone can get their hands on an iPhone. The iPhone 4S will look much like the iPhone 4 but with far less on-board memory and will run seamlessly with Apple’s iCloud service. The iPhone 4S is also rumored to be available with both post-paid and pre-paid plans which would make it the first iPhone ever to do that. Both the iPhone 5 and 4S will be running iOS 5 out of the box.

We’ve all got ours eyes set on October 4th, we’ll just have to wait and see what that date brings.

  • PS3 Might Be Getting Google Chrome Soon

PS3 Might Be Getting Google Chrome Soon

The PS3 on launch was able to browse the web through it’s built-in browser which was a first for a gaming console. The browser was although very bad and many people just refused to use it, it was updated a lot in recent years but it still didn’t live up to it’s expectation. Many of Sony’s customers were expecting to get a proper browser like Chrome and now they just might get it.

A member on popular gaming forum NeoGaf recently explored the ps3-webkit-support.diff and found something interesting:

I’m going through ps3-webkit-support.diff because I’m bored. Looks like we’re getting Chrome Actually, since Geoff’s added a couple of files for ChromeClientPOSIX.

Naturally the full source of His changes are in that. Diff file also. From what I can tell, the only posix platform refers to the PS3 in webkit, It does not show up at all in the mainline source code (Unix versions are under Their Typically widget library like Qt or gtk). There’s a lot of Functions That Are not Implemented, but they’re Mainly Ones That involvement windowing That You Would not expect to be supported on the PS3.

Might this not mean much since I do not see the cool stuff from Chrome theses sources, like bookmark syncing, but it’s a freaking huge project., And only covers what the diff Needed to be changed so it works on the PS3. Might it not just get Chrome branding visible to the user, but I think if he’s calling it chrome client, we can expect good things for the future.

Dr.Dre featuring in Tomb Raider (2012)?

The trailer revealed at the ultimate gaming convention, the E3, shows the new edition in the  Tomb Raider series, Tomb Raider 2012 as they call it, shows that it will feature songs by the legendary Dr. Dre. I know right? Dr. Dre singing for Tomb Raider? It just doesn’t fit right. Also, one can also see the red-ribbon cable and the ControlTalk cable remote which unmistakably suggest the Beats headphones.

And if you’ll be thinking even more, those controls will  unable you to utilize music playback and take calls if you’re using an iPhone.  Now what can one say to that?
