  • GTA V For Wii U And PC Are ‘Up For Consideration’

Just a few days after releasing the second trailer for their much awaited title – GTA V, Rockstar via Vice President Dan Houser let fans of the game know that the PC and Wii U version are still ‘up for consideration’ and very much possible.

IGN asked Houser about GTA V coming to the Wii U and PC:

Everything else is up for consideration,

That’s all I can give you. The main thing is we are not…we are a third-party publisher. We’re not Nintendo, we’re not Sony, we’re not Microsoft.

We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there’s the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that’s on Apple we put something on Apple.

Wherever it might be. I think that’s the fun in what we do. We see ourselves as a content company that uses technology. We don’t make it; we use it to make the most fun stuff.

GTA V is confirmed for release for the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Spring 2013.

What platform are you getting GTA V for? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Apple to transition away from Intel CPUs in coming years

There was a time when Apple computers ran on Motorola and IBM powered CPUs called the Power PC. Then with the MacBook introduction nearly a decade ago Apple shifted to the more mainstream x86 based chips which are also used in a wide variety of Windows based PCs and desktops. Now reports are coming in that Apple is planning on shifting away from Intel as the chipset supplier for the Mac lineup.

Unnamed sources from within Apple have said that the company is confident enough that its current chips that power the iPad and iPhone will one day be powerful enough to run desktop and portable computers. This is part of a vision Apple has where all devices share a common platform for a more seamless experience between a laptop or a mobile phone.

It is also reported that Bob Mansfield‘s new group is responsible for the transition between Intel CPUs and future CPUs that Apple will use. The expected timeline for this is 2017 which is still a considerable amount of time away. It’s an ambitious project, but Apple has always been a trendsetter. What will be more interesting to see how Intel responds to this considering Apple is one of their biggest customers.

  • The Internet Goes To War – SOPA Strike Begins

Months in the making, hundreds of thousands of voices heard, the war is finally on! SOPA/PIPA have their day on January 24th, they will either be passed or delayed. In order to stop this catastrophe from happening, the big names have joined hands ignoring their traffic and business and stand against a single big threat. January 18th was announced as a strike against SOPA by Reddit, it was supposed to be the day when major websites were going to go dark and display words against SOPA/PIPA. When it was announced, most of the big sites weren’t sure of making the move. All of a sudden, the entire controlling for of the internet got involved in the strike, companies like Google, Wikipedia, WordPress, Reddit, Mozilla, Minecraft, Tumblr are JUST a few of them.

I was shocked when I opened up Wikipedia this morning to see this gorgeous screen:

Wikipedia Dark 582x480 The Internet Goes To War SOPA Strike Begins

    Google did its part too:

google logo 720x410 The Internet Goes To War SOPA Strike Begins

This is what it all comes down to. All of the internet’s big names, no matter how different they may be, stand together against this unjust law. Reddit and Google have nothing in common, 4chan and WordPress don’t come together on any front, but here everything is forgotten and only one thing is in mind, stopping SOPA/PIPA from happening. And this is just the beginning, a lot of teachers tweeted about Wikipedia being down so that their students could finish their projects earlier. Twitter is filled with hashtags like #stopsopa and #sopastrike in the thousands by today!

Innovation will not stay quiet anymore, people even designed plugins for WordPress to let bloggers install them and have their sites blacked out. Apart from the hundreds of big and notable names joining in, thousands of blogs and websites have taken part as well. Now the big question is, will this stop SOPA? There is no clear answer, the bill can still pass because the powers behind it surpass the power of the internet. CBS, Disney, NBC, ESPN, these are just some of the names supporting SOPA/PIPA. We will keep you updated on the strike and whatever happens on January 24th.
