  • Google schedules July 24 event, possibly related to Android 4.3

Google has set out invites for an event schedule for July 24, where the company is supposed to introduce new Android features and possibly new Nexus devices. Although all this is speculation as the invite itself doesn’t contain any information regarding what is to take place at the event.

google invite Google schedules July 24 event, possibly related to Android 4.3

The speculation regarding these specific topics is because Google hardly talked about the next version of their OS and new Nexus devices at their recently held Google I/O event. Also Sundar Pichai, Google’s senior vice president for Android will be in attendance so he would talk about something relevant.

Although it’s unclear what features will be included in Android 4.3 right this moment but the update should bring significant improvements.

  • One million Nexus 7 units are sold each month says Asus

In an official statement Asus’s CFO David Chang has revealed that his company is selling one million Nexus 7 tablets per month. He announced this information after the company’s third quarter conference that took place on Tuesday according to WSJ.

Nexus 7 is a joint venture of Asus and Android maker Google which has been undoubtedly become the most success Android tablet ever produced. Asus revealed that the sales were 500K-700K in the beginning but last month the sales jumped to 1 million units. While the number announced by Asus is good, it is no where near to the market leader Apple’s sale numbers. Apple recently announced in its third quarter results that it sold over 14 million iPad units in the last quarter alone in the US while the global sales of iPad were 25 million in the third quarter.

While Apple is enjoying the status of the most successful and the only king of the tablet industry Google is expected to boost its sales in the coming months. Google recently announced Nexus 10 with 2560×1600 resolution display and a 32GB version of Nexus 7. Google has also reduced the price of 16GB model to $199 replacing the 8 gig version with it.

  • The “Senseless” HTC One Google Edition supposedly releasing this Summer

Recent rumors have been suggesting that HTC, just like Samsung, is working on a Nexus version of their flagship phone. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition was revealed a few weeks back at Google I/O and has been causing much excitement throughout the Android community.

The HTC One which many hardcore Android fans claim is the best smartphone available on the market right now can give some competition to the aforementioned Galaxy S4.

The latest rumor of the HTC One Google Edition comes from the recent major restructuring of the Taiwanese smartphone maker which lead to many key employees leaving the company. One of these key employees was HTC’s chief product officer Kouji Kodera who was a huge supporter of HTC Sense which is HTC’s proprietary Android skin.

OneGoogleEd 580 75 The Senseless HTC One Google Edition supposedly releasing this Summer

Kodera was once quoted that he “very proud of HTC Sense” and that he desired to ship it on every one of their devices. Maybe this new Google Edition lead to him leaving the company.

Other than this rumored HTC One smartphone, HTC has also been responsible for the first two Nexus devices namely the G1 and Nexus One, they’re also the manufacturers of the first Facebook phone called HTC First which is able to run stock Android along with Facebook’s own Home overlay.

I personally am a huge fan of stock Android and if HTC’s great hardware present in the HTC One is coupled with Stock Android, things can only get better. Which Android UI do you like? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
