It’s April which means it’s almost time for the second DLC map pack for Call of Duty Black Ops 2. The first map pack ‘Revolution’ was pretty successful and worked well in Treyarch’s favor as they tried putting out new content like game modes and even DLC weapons which is a first for a Call of Duty game.
The second DLC map pack will supposedly be called ‘Uprising’ according to the various leaks from the past few days. We’ll try our best is summing them up before the official announcement, which can be any day now.
Above is the first leaked image of Uprising; we can read out the name’s out the maps which are Vertigo, Encore, Magma and Studio along with the Zombies map Mob of the dead. By the looks of it there won’t be a DLC weapon this time around.

And now we have above another picture via Reddit of the same pre-order card.
The biggest info leaked is courtesy of YouTuber LiamFTWinter who managed to get some Uprising info from Xbox Live including the DLC’s full description and promo banner. The description is as follows:
Call of Duty®: Black Ops II Uprising includes four incredibly diverse Multiplayer Maps: Magma, Encore, Vertigo, and Studio: a reimagined adaptation of the fan-favorite Black Ops multiplayer map Firing Range. Uprising also introduces Mob of the Dead, Treyarch’s most terrifying Zombies experience to date. Top Hollywood talent rounds out a cast of four Prohibition-era gangsters that are forced to fend off hordes of the undead while imprisoned on San Francisco’s notorious Alcatraz Island. While guard towers and new weapons offer tactical advantages, survival offers an unprecedented new challenge for these four lost souls.
So Studio is a remake of the much loved Firing Range map from Black Ops 2, this is excellent news as a whole bunch of Black Ops 2 players wanted Treyarch to bring back the map like Infinity Ward brought back the Modern Warfare 2 map Terminal for Modern Warfare 3. The difference is that Treyarch will be modifying the map a bit or as they call it “reimagining”, exactly how similar will it play to Firing Range? We’ll find out when we see the map in action.
Here’s the promotional banner that came along with the description:
The Zombies map taking place in Alcatraz called Dawn of the Dead will mark the return of famed horror director George A. Romero who is a prominent character in the Zombies storyline, he debuted in Call of the Dead in the original Black Ops.
More information about the Dawn of the Dead is being discussed on the Black Ops 2 Zombies Reddit. This information supposedly comes from an Activision employee. Details are summed up nicely by Reddit user Zach34:
Here’s a basic outline of things said, hopefully it’s legit:
The four characters will die in the intro. They will come back in a Who’s Who-esque way. Buildables may play a big role, including building an airplane that is scripted to bring you to the Golden Gate Bridge. There is most likely a Pack-a-Punch around here.
The Warden is like the Cosmonaut. He may lock certain doors, such as locking a cell. 2-hit down with Juggernog.
Using an electric chair next to the pack-a-punch (since they’re ghosts) bring them back to the Island.
For the Wonder Weapon, it’s a “directional beam”. Apparently you can augment it to enhance it.
New perks will possibly be introduced. PhD may not return, but Deadshot may return. Apparently the Deadshot perma-perk is called “Heads Up”. Quick Revive may not make an appearance. Revive may not even play a part in the map. Instead, going down may give off a martyrdom effect. For a new perk, an electric burst may go off whilst reloading.
The map is supposedly “huge”. Music may be present throughout the entire map instead of ambient noises.
Separate areas may be incorporated, such as the different maps in Tranzit.
Uprising should be out on April 16th, but the official announcement should be made any day now. So who’s excited?
Update: Uprising has been confirmed.
