We are living in a new age of media where Facebook and Twitter are ruling the charts. Where terms like “Facebook me” and “tweet” become a part of the common lingo. No one can afford to be absent in these mediums if they want to stay on track with the rest of the world. When I first started out, things like Facebook and Google Plus were non-existent, we had a social networking site called “Orkut” at that time, it was pretty famous among the young people and it was beaten by Myspace soon after.
But even then these websites didn’t matter that much regarding business and marketing. Nowadays, blogs without social existence are deemed to be archaic, living in the old days still lingering for dear life. If you own a blog/website, it is VITAL to have a strong social existence, which means having fans on Facebook and followers on Twitter, but social media marketing is not cheap in any way.
Facebook ads are expensive on their own, people resort to hiring marketing firms and companies to make their Facebook Pages big and powerful. Social media is one of the major pillars of online success now and will only get stronger and stronger as time progresses. We see new start-ups like Google Plus, ready to take over Facebook and other websites.
Social marketing has its own market and without it people would lose their jobs. Big websites have fan pages containing hundreds of thousands of fans willing to visit any link or comment on any post published on that page. In the olden days, we had to rely on SEO and SERP for traffic and such, now all you need is a big and active fanpage with decent enough followers to like your content.
There are a number of good engagement marketing companies out there. Do your research, try them out and make sure you become active in these places if you haven’t been in the past, because hate it or love it Social Media is here to stay.
