How to Update Galaxy S III to stock Android 4.1.2

Galaxy S III is the most powerful Android smartphone out there. It comes with Samsung’s custom UI called TouchWiz. Unfortunately it hasn’t gotten the Jelly Bean update throughout the world as of yet. Fortunately there is a custom ROM that will do just that. To top it off, it’s based on AOSP so it’s completely stock and devoid of any custom UIs.

ROM Information

  • Omega v 2.0
  • Based on AOKP Build-4 Jelly Bean 4.1.2
  • Kernel Siyah-s3-v1.7b4

Do note that this ROM will work on the i9300 version of Galaxy S III only. Your phone needs to be rooted with a recovery installed. Backup all your data before continuing. The full guide on how to update Galaxy S III to stock Android 4.1.2 below.
