The Head of Communication at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE), Nick Caplin has released a joint statement on behalf of L.A Noire’s team Rockstar, and Sony, commenting that the various issues faced by gamers while playing L.A Noire are not caused by Firmware update 3.61, or the game itself.
“We have received a very small number of customer support questions about PS3s overheating or shutting down while playing L.A. Noire. At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat,” the statement reads.
Several older Ps3 users have experienced forced console shut-downs, game freezing, crashing, and over heating while playing L.A Noire. This problem is more pronounced on 60, and 80 GB models.
“We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise,” Caplin said.
Sony and Rockstar have urged the gamers experiencing these problems, to contact the technical staff via the methods given in the links listed below.
