Whenever a new version of iOS there’s always a question arises will the previous versions be able to run it. At the announcement of iOS 5 this question came forward again. It is a fact that the new features and new Operating systems require more resources.Currently the oldest version of iPhone which is in production is 3GS and all 3GS owners should be glad as they would be able to run the new OS. One thing which Apple is very good with is keeping support for it’s earlier models and making the iOS not much resource hungry.

iPhone 3GS will get an update to the new iOS without loosing the new features introduced with an exception to in app Camera editing. 3GS owners will be able to get a taste of the new notification bar and the iCloud services now!  According to our knowledge 3GS has enough resources to even run in app Camera editing.

Microsoft revealed today at E3 that Minecraft will be coming exclusively to the Xbox 360 with Kinect motion control support. The popular indie game which made its buzz last year will be coming soon to Xbox 360.

It will also feature cross-functionality between the PC version and the Xbox 360. There are no details yet on what type of Kinect support is expected. It will be released this Winter and will most likely be a downloadable release rather then a retail release.

The NGP has been rumored numerous times to be delayed. Part of the reason was the recent Japan Earthquake which shock the whole Japan and did a lot of damage to its Economy. Japan is still recovering from this disaster. This was not the only factor which affected Sony, Last month, Playstation Network Security was breached and millions of user account info were stolen. This event just angered the world and the pressure fell on Sony to implement proper measures for security which reportedly costed Sony a lot of money.

Now 1up.com is reporting by quoting 01.net that Sony may downgrade some of the NGP specs in order to fit it in the Holidays 2011 deadline for Japan. The NGP was confirmed for release this holiday in Japan while it will be released for the rest of the world in 2012.

01.net claims that the non-3G models of NGP will be priced similar to the 3DS so that they have a competitive advantage over the 3DS which means we can expect non-3G models to be somewhere between the $250 to $300 range. This could come with a price as the earlier reported 512 MB RAM has been rumored to be cut down to 256 MB in order to compensate with the cost. The 128 MB of graphics memory is still there but Sony is planning to cut the 16 GB of internal flash memory according to this rumor.

Since this is just a rumor, it won’t necessarily be true. We can only hope that Sony manages to keep the NGP reasonably priced. We will keep you updated regarding any news, keep checking us regularly.

EA’s different studios from all around the globe have managed to put up more than a million dollar to donate to the recent destruction in Japan caused by the earthquake. EA’s employees have been very busy collecting money for donation.  Various games, DLC’s and gears where being sold or auctioned to help the people of Japan.

People at Canada Burnaby Campus packed 100,000 meals and sent them to the affected areas of Japan. If you too are feeling generous or helpful you can donate by following this link (Red cross).

Yes folks the long rumored Galaxy Tab 8.9 has been finally announced by Samsung. There isn’t much to say about this tablet, it’s almost just like it’s 10.1-inch big brother apart from the screen.

The 8.6mm thin tablet comes with Android Honeycomb and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI out of the box. The tablet will also be available in an LTE flavor very soon. Other specs haven’t been confirmed yet but we presume it’s gonna be an upgraded processor like the recently announced Galaxy S II LTE.

According to recent reports it was suggested that Taiwanese chipmaker (TSMC) had started work for the next generation Apple mobile processor and the successor to the iPad 2′s A5. The report claimed that the chip would be “publicly unveiled” the second quarter of 201 but according to a recent report by CNET Linley Group analyst Kevin Krewell has filed a research note which claims that production of the A6 chip will not start before A2 2011 so a public reveal in an Apple device is not expected before June.

The Apple A6 processor is set to debut in the iPad 3 if Apple stays true to it’s yearly fresh cycle as the A4 debuted in the original iPad and the A5 debuted in the iPad 2.

A final version of the chip will enter production in 2Q12 ‘at the earliest’… We believe this timing makes sense,” Krewell said. “This pace would make the A6 one of the first 28 [nanometer] mobile processors (along with Qualcomm’s MSM8960) to enter production. This schedule, however, breaks Apple’s annual processor-upgrade cycle and will delay any products using the A6 until at least June 2012.

It’s also rumored that the A6 processor will be a quad core chip and will use 3D Transistor Technology similar the Tri-Gate technology being used by Intel for their processors.

The rumored A6 is a major step-up in chip design. Not only does it contain four processor cores (the existing Apple A5 has two cores) but will use so-called 3D technology, Linley Group senior analyst Kevin Krewell said this week in a research note, citing a report in the Taiwan Economic News. The 3D tech is roughly analogous to Intel’s 3D technology announced in May.

So what do you guys think? Will Apple release an A5 based iPad 3 with the rumored Retina Display or will they wait till after June and release an iPad 3 with the quad core A6 processor?

A video popped up on YouTube a few days ago where a user got his hands on a 32GB HP TouchPad running Android 2.2.1 Froyo. The guy has since then dumped the /system and uploaded it to the Internet for those who have been waiting anxiously to get their hands onto it.

RootzWiki announced the leak earlier today and is currently investigating the dump which will help developers port Android over to to the TouchPad.

According to a recent report by the Wall Street Journal Sprint Nextel is in talks with Apple to bring the iPhone 5 to their network. This means that three of the major four carriers in the US will be offering the iPhone 5 in October.

After this report went public Sprint’s stocks increased quite a bit, this deal could be beneficial for both Apple and Sprint as the former could reach more parts of the market and shake off it’s luxury item label while Sprint getting one of the highest selling phone on their network would prove very beneficial for them.

After the release of Ratchet and Clank’s Crank in Time adventure, and all new All 4 One just on the horizon, Platformer fans have been missing Sly Cooper. Albeit the game was announced some time ago, there were no additional story details to go by.

Sony has recently unveiled a brand new trailer (below) for Sly Cooper 4 at San Diego Comic-Con, which grandly follows the tradition of devious villains from previous games, and shows a new dastardly criminal El Jefe. It is still unclear what role this character plays in the grand scheme of things in Sly’s world, but this time he is our hero’s target.

Sly 4: Thieves in Time is expected to hit PS3 sometime in 2012.
