NOTE: If you’ve already updated and are facing problems like the recovery mode loop, visit this guide HERE to downgrade to a stable release.

    Tools You’ll Need:

iOS5 Beta 6 Firmware File. Click Here.

    Redsn0w 0.98b5. Click Here.

iOS 5 Beta 5 Firmware File.

    Step One

Download the official IPSW (Depending on your device). Download and extract Redsn0w. For convenience, place all of them in a folder on the desktop.

    Step Two

Connect your iPhone to the computer and launch iTunes. When the phone shows up in iTunes select it from the list of devices on the left.  Now hold down Shift and press the restore button. You can also choose to update but restore is recommended; it’s always better to get a fresh start.

    Step Three

As soon as you press Shift+Restore, a window will pop up asking you to select the IPSW file to be used. Point it towards the Official 5.0 Beta 6 IPSW you placed in the Jailbreak folder on the desktop.

    Step Four

Once iTunes has successfully flashed your phone to the desired firmware, navigate to the Jailbreak folder on the desktop and launch Redsn0w.exe.

**Windows 7 users may need to run RedSn0w in Vista compatibility mode. You can do this by right clicking the executable and selecting Properties from the contextual menu

Once redsn0w opens, click the browse button.

    Step Five

A windows will pop up asking you to select the Official IPSW file for your desired firmware. Point it towards the Official 5.0 Beta 5 IPSW you placed in the Jailbreak folder on the desktop.

You will then be asked (if using a 3GS) if your device is a newer “fixed” model. If your’s is, then press the Yes button, click the No button otherwise. If you aren’t sure then simply press the Yes button.

    Step Six

Once the firmware has been successfully identified click Next. Redsn0w will then prepare the jailbreak data.

After the data has been prepared you will be shown a menu where you can select different jailbreak options. You may select specific options depending on your needs, but for now we will only select “Install Cydia”. Select that option and then hit next to continue.

    Step Seven

Connect the iPhone to the PC and then proceed to switch it off. Once the phone is fully turned off click Next. Remember to hold the phone in your hand before you press next  as you will have to press various buttons on the phone to make it  enter DFU mode.

    Step Eight

After pressing next, instructions to enter DFU mode will appear. To enter DFU mode, hold the power button for 3 seconds, then without letting go of the power button press the home button and power button together for 10 seconds after which let go of the power button and continue to hold the home button until your PC detects the phone. It may take several tries to get into DFU mode.

Once the phone has entered DFU mode, the process will begin. The phone will reboot.

When it’s completed it will show you this message. The phone will then reboot and the rest of the process will continue on your device.

Once your iPhone is done being jailbroken, you should see Cydia on your SpringBoard. This means the jailbreak has been carried out successfully. Congratulations on jailbreaking your iPhone 4/iPhone 3GS tethered on the iOS 5 beta 5 firmware.

  • Move Fitness Announced

Since Zumba fitness is burning the charts and staying at top position, things seem to be all good and healthy for Wii owners. But Sony thought, why should its gamers get left behind in the race for ‘bums of steel’? So, the publisher has chucked ‘Move Fitness’ in the face of stubborn gamers, who refuse to wipe the grease off their behinds.

A sweat induced trailer was shown to the crazed fitness nuts (Journalists) at GamesCom today. Even if it looked like a rehashed version of quite a number of other Wii fitness games, or so is the word of those who saw it, people were still excited.

I am afraid we don’t have any teaser trailer to show you, but, you can wait for it, by holding it out on those fries.

  • Cole has fangs in Infamous II: Festival of Blood

Many of you geeks may not know, but Anne Rice’s Vampire Lestat chronicles – Better worded as Interview with the Vampire Books – truly gave vampires a status above the blood-sucking demons that usually used to burn with Holy water, and cringe before silver crosses.

Today’s vampires are sexual; they wear leather, and exude allure which devout Christians would have flipped their wigs over. Following down the same read, Sony offers a new downloadable chapter for Infamous II.

NewMariasis run over by vampires, and Cole gets bitten. Now, as all the goody heroes, he must find the head vampire before his condition becomes permanent. Clichéd enough? Probably, but it won’t stop the die hard Vampire lore fans from trying this out.

Festival of Blood will make it out on PSN in October.

  • US Carriers Testing LTE Enabled iPhone? Internal iOS Carrier Build Suggests So

It seems that multiple US carriers are testing LTE Enabled iPhones which run a special version of iOS which carries special files need for the phone to work with the LTE network. The information was found deep down in the new firmware.

The iPhone 5 will almost certainly support the marketed “4G” called HSPA+ on GSM networks but so far only Verizon has launched “true 4G” in the US with the new LTE technology. It was previously reported that the LTE enabled chipset Apple’s waiting for will come out in 2012 since the current ones compromise battery life, size and design issues.

While we can’t confirm that the upcoming fifth-generation iPhone will be able to support 4G LTE, we can now exclusively confirm that Apple’s carrier partners are testing iPhone models with LTE capability. BGR has obtained evidence of an internal iOS test build from one of Apple’s major carrier partners, and buried in the firmware is a property list (.plist file) for LTE.

As long as the battery doesn’t die every few hours we’re happy.

  • Samsung GT-I9210 Celox Spotted In The Wild, Possible LTE Supporting Galaxy S II?

Samsung gave us a hint at their upcoming phones last week and now we have two pictures and specifications of the GT-I9210. At a first glace the phone looks awfully similar to a Galaxy S II.

The Celox features a 4.5-inch WXGA display (not sure Super AMOLED Plus or Super LCD) like the T-Mobile Hercules, a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon dual core processor, 1GB of RAM among others Galaxy S II-esque features.

  • Ready at Dawn on God of War Origins Collection on PS3

Giving a PSP game a much needed 1080 p, 60 frames per second facelift that manages to smoothly run on a teeny-weeny screen at 480 x 272, 30 frames per second, is a pretty daunting and time consuming task.

But Ready at Dawn have put their thick nerd glasses, and game face on to take both PSP games to the next level. Nathan Phail-Liff gave away a few technical details on PlayStation blog today.

“We ended up going through every single character in the game and doubling or tripling polygon count by hand, as well as up-rezing and re-painting every texture across both games at 4x resolution on both characters and environments,” Phail-Liff said.

He also added that every cut-scene in these games had to be pre-rendered for PS3, in addition to full stereoscopic 3D support.

This collection will make it out on September 11th on PS3.

  • Possible iPhone 5 Release Date Not September 7th, Moved To October 7th

Narrowing down to the release date of the iPhone 5 is turning out to be really difficult, each new report shifting between September and October. Today’s new reports suggest an early October release.

We have two reports today which suggest an October release, the first is of The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple who claims his sources suggest that Apple has no plans to launch the iPhone 5 next month, he didn’t have anything else to say but was pretty confident it won’t be September. The other report is from TiPb which thinks that the iPhone 5 will debut in October, they didn’t give a reason though. Don’t forget to take these reports with a grain of salt guys, nothing is official yet.
