Pebblebee has launched the LÔC8, a tracker designed to help owners locate personal equipment. The device fits inside bike handles and golf clubs and supports Apple Find My and Android Find Hub, according to reports from 9to5Mac and 9to5Google.
The company says the LÔC8 can run for three years on its battery. Its design targets gear that can hold a hidden locator, rather than items that need a tag attached to the outside.
A concealed tracker for personal equipment
Pebblebee built the product for placement within compatible equipment. Bike handles and golf clubs are the stated examples, allowing the locator to remain out of view while the gear is in use or stored.
That approach separates the unit from trackers meant to hang from a key ring or bag. A three-year stated battery life could also reduce the need to retrieve the device for routine battery replacement once it has been installed.
Two location networks expand the options for owners
Support for both Apple Find My and Android Find Hub gives equipment owners access to two established device-location networks. That matters for people who want to hide a locator in their gear while choosing a network that matches the phones and other devices they already use.
The product’s focus on bikes and golf equipment also puts the form factor at the center of its usefulness. A visible tag can be removed or get in the way, while a device placed inside compatible gear is intended to be less conspicuous during everyday use.
Pebblebee has not provided a launch date or price for the LÔC8. The company also has not disclosed its dimensions or specified which bike handles, golf clubs, or other equipment types can accommodate the device.
