It seems at Asian carrier China Telecom is in direct talks with Apple regarding bringing the CDMA model of the iPhone to it’s whooping 216 million subscribers. Apple is currently serving only China Unicom and it’s 886 million customers just like it was previously doing with AT&T in the USA, If they can give Verizon the iPhone then why not China Telecom?Â
China Telecom’s chairman Wang Xiaochu told Reuters:
We’re not denying that we’re in touch with iPhone (Apple), but I cannot comment on the progress.
These “talks” could very well lead to something as Apple’s exclusivity agreement with China Unicom is set to expire later this year.
