  • Jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 tethered on iPhone and iPod using Redsn0w

Jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 using this easy guide. Apple update the iOS software to 6.0.1 yesterday to fix some minor bugs. Unfortunately as it has always been, with each new version of iOS, the jailbreak process has to be redone every time.

Fortunately iOS 6.0.1 can now be jailbroken. Unfortunately it is currently only for iDevices that run the A4 or lower chipset. That means iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, new iPod Touch and iPad are out ( any device with A5, A5X, A6 or A6X). Furthermore this jailbreak is tethered which means every time you reboot your device you’ll need to connect it to your PC or Mac.

Follow the steps below to Jailbreak iOS 6.0.1.

Step 1- Update your device to iOS 6.0.1

Step 2- Download iOS 6.0 from the links below:

Step 3- Download Redsn0w for Mac or Windows

Step 4- Open Redsn0w and click on Extras –> Select IPSW. Select the firmware you downloaded in step 2. After it has been identified by Redsn0w click the back button to go back to the main screen

Step 5- Click jailbreak and select Cydia. Follow the instructions to put your device into DFU mode. After the jailbreak is done click “Autoboot this device when it connects in DFU mode” which will put your device in tethered mode

That’s it. After you’re done with step 5 your device will be jailbroken.

  • How to jailbreak iOS 6 on iPhone or iPod touch using RedSn0w [tethered]

Do you want to take control of your iOS device by performing a jailbreak on it and then tell your Android using friends on their face that you can also customize your Apple device just as you want? Use the guide below to Jailbreak iOS 6 devices.

Well if you want to then you just need to follow a few simple steps and to achieve this goal. Here in this post we are going to show you how you can jailbreak your iPhone or iPod touch using RedSn0w tool. The process is quite easy and takes a few minutes to complete, however you should follow the instructions very carefully and back up your data through iTunes before proceeding.

Before you go any further in this process, please note that if you have any iOS device other than iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch 4th generation please do not use this method as your device isn’t supported yet. Also, this is a tethered jailbreak that means you will have to connect your device to RedSn0w every time it restarts. We will tell you how to do that at the end of the post.

    What you need:

You will need to download the latest iOS version which is iOS 6 for your device if you aren’t already using it. You can find the direct download links below.

      • iPhone 3GS (iPhone2,1) version 6.0 (Build 10A403), Download

      • iPod Touch 4G (iPod4,1) version 6.0 (Build 10A403), Download
      • iPhone 4 (Verizon) (iPhone3,3) version 6.0 (Build 10A403), Download

You will also need the RedSn0w tool in order to jailbreak your device. Download it from here (Windows/Mac).

    Let’s begin.

Step 1. Connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer and open iTunes.

Step 2. From iTunes click on the name of your iOS device from side pane. On the details page of your device you will see the restore button. Click on it while pressing the Option key on Mac or the Shift key on Windows.

Step 3. From the window that will open on your screen search for the IPSW firmware file you just downloaded and click on the ‘Open’ button.

Step 4. After your device is running iOS 6, close iTunes and open RedSn0w. (Windows users should open it in Administrative mode)
