  • PSP Catches up to 3DS in Japan

     

    Seems like Nintendo’s new gadget’s dominance over the Japan Sales shall be short lived as it managed to top this week’s Hardware Sales chart by only a couple of hundred pieces. PSP sold 50,479 units last week compared to 50,710 3DS purchases. Up till now Nintendo’s 3DS has sold 792,954 pieces in Japan. PlayStation 3 was third with 28,973 sales, DS fourth with 19,094 sales and Wii fifth with 11,808 sales . The Xbox 360 was able to find 1963 customers . We are still waiting for the 3DS American sales.

    Square Enix’s Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection topped the Software charts. The chart was as following:

  • Pokemon And Dragon Quest Dominate June Japan Software Sales

    Enterbrain has released software sale numbers for the month of June and the Pokemon sequel has completely dominated the charts. Pokemon Black and White 2 were responsible for 34.5% of the software revenue through 28th of May to the 24th of June. This makes this the first time Pokemon has topped the monthly revenue chart since 2010 when the original Black and White released.

    Square Enix came in second with their Dragon Quest Monsters Terry’s Wonderland 3D spinoff game which managed to move 740,000 units. The full top 10 list is below (via Famitsu.com)

  • L.A Noire Tops June 2011 Software Sales According To NPD

    L.A Noire kept its throne for the second time in a row by topping the software sales in June according to NPD. Duke Nukem was second while Infamous 2 finished with a 3rd position despite being on a single platform.

    While L.A Noire and Duke Nukem were released on multiple platforms, Infamous 2 was released on PS3 only which made its sales more important than both of the games. According to Sony, Infamous 2 was the single best selling SKU of the month. The combined sales of all platforms for L.A Noire and Duke Nukem helped them claim the top 2 spots easily.

    NPD results also showed the sales of Microsoft Xbox 360 which were twice as many as all current generation platform sales. The Xbox 360 sold about 507,000 units during June 2011.

    The total sales of US retailers were off about 10% from last year. See the full list below:-
