PSP Catches up to 3DS in Japan

 

Seems like Nintendo’s new gadget’s dominance over the Japan Sales shall be short lived as it managed to top this week’s Hardware Sales chart by only a couple of hundred pieces. PSP sold 50,479 units last week compared to 50,710 3DS purchases. Up till now Nintendo’s 3DS has sold 792,954 pieces in Japan. PlayStation 3 was third with 28,973 sales, DS fourth with 19,094 sales and Wii fifth with 11,808 sales . The Xbox 360 was able to find 1963 customers . We are still waiting for the 3DS American sales.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy IV: Complete Collection topped the Software charts. The chart was as following:

  2. Dynasty Warriors 7 (PS3, Koei Tecmo): 36.548 / 357.113 (-46%)
  3. Gundam: The 3D Battle (3DS, Bandai Namco): 23.500 / NEW
  4. Dissidia: 012 (Duodecim) Final Fantasy (PSP, Square Enix): 21.741 / 403.912 (-30%)
  5. Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (PSP, Capcom): 16.444 / 4.401.653 (+11%)
  6. Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle (3DS, SOLevel 5): 16.294 / 242.649 (-12%)
  7. Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity (PSP, SEGA): 14.403 / 300.418 (-11%)
  8. Nintendogs + Cats: French Bulldog / Shiba / Toy Poodle & New Friends (3DS, Nintendo): 13.219 / 160.742 (-10%)
  9. SD Gundam G Generation: World (PSP, Bandai Namco): 10.160 / 283.802 (-29%)
  10. Pokemon Black / White (DS, Pokemon Co.): 10.025 / 5.127.678 (+16%)
