  • Final Fantasy Versus XIII Won’t Be Shown At TGS

More sad news for all the JRPG fans who were hoping for a closer look at this long delayed game from Square Enix. It turns out that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is absent from the list of games that are to shown at this year’s Tokyo Game Show in Japan.

According to a trusted source from NeoGAF, the confirmed TGS titles are XIII-2, Type-0, KH3D and Theatrhythm. Theatehythm is a new title from Tetsuya Nomura which will be a part of 25th’s Anniversary for Final Fantasy. According to the original user at NeoGAF

No Versus at TGS… think most people knew this though. Nomura has already decided on the timing of its next reveal, however.
THEATRhythm is the first game as a part of the 25th Anniversary for Final Fantasy.

Their confirmed TGS titles are XIII-2, Type-0, KH3D and Theatrhythm. They’ll have the open mega theater again, and the PVs will eventually be released on the web.

It is already confirmed that Versus XIII won’t be releasing on PS3 this year and their are no news yet of a release date in 2012. The only in-game footage of Versus XIII was shown during last year’s TGS which showed a lot of footage including impressive fights and beautifully rendered CGI cut scenes. The gameplay looked similar to Kingdom Hearts and was a lot more action oriented.

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution PC Version To Be Region Locked

Well there’s a first for everything, Xbox 360 owners must be pretty familiar to region locked games but this is very new for the PC platform. Square Enix has announced the Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be region locked. What does this mean? Read on after the break.

So basically if you buy the game from a EU region Steam account or another website which gives you a EU key but you live and want to use it in the US, you can’t since the key won’t work. Square Enix confirmed that this is the case for both the disc and digital version of the game.

The PC version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution is region-locked.
Please be sure to purchase a copy from your own region, otherwise you might not be able to register the game.
If you should not be able to register your copy due to a region conflict, please return the game to your retailer. Square Enix cannot offer assistance in replacing incompatible registration codes.

  • New Final Fantasy XIII-2 Screens Show Moogle Magic

Moogles are the cute and cuddly cat looking flying creatures in the Final Fantasy universe. Just like Chocobos are the common animals in every Final Fantasy game, so are Moogles. For all the Moogle lovers out there, Final Fantasy XIII-2 has a lot of them. These new screens for upcoming Final Fantasy XIII-2 just scream one word “Kupo!”.

The revamped battle system in Final Fantasy XIII-2 also add some new tweaks involving moogles. When we initiate battle with an enemy, a moogle clock will start as can be seen in screenshots. It will grant various bonuses like “100% ATB Gauge” once the player makes contact with the enemy.

It seems like moogles are not only limited to battles. We can play some sort of mini game with them as well or maybe use them to find hard to reach items as we can see in the screenshot.

  • Serah’s New Design Makes Her Look Like Twin Of Lighting In Final Fantasy XIII-2

IGN got their hands on these exclusive new screens for Final Fantasy XIII-2 and it gives us a closer glimpse at the new character model of Serah. Serah is the main protagonist of Final Fantasy XIII-2 along with Noel.

There are a couple of screens from the combat which we have seen in action in trailer. This combat system will be slightly revamped so that it will be a little different then the previous game. The new additions to the combat system include a moogle clock which grants various bonuses depending on the time taken to hit an enemy.

While i still remember the whiny Serah of XIII, i just hope she doesn’t retain these characteristics in this game as well. The story is now sounding a lot similar to Final Fantasy X-2, Serah has to search for her missing sister Lighting in this game. It is just like Yuna had to search for Tidus in X-2. Although unlike X-2, it appears that we will be able to enjoy playing as Lighting briefly throughout the game.

As we can see from the concept art of Serah, she looks very similar to Lighting. At least she has lost her kiddie look from XIII. She now looks more bad ass like Lighting albeit with a shorter skirt.
