The Witcher 2 is a PC exclusive which was recently announced at this year’s E3 for the Xbox 360. It was going to be released this year, but now it seems like it has been delayed to Q1 2012.
The game is being delayed for two reasons according to CD Projekt RED, the makers of Witcher 2. One reason is to provide more time to the development team so that they can focus more on expanding and polishing certain elements of gameplay. The other reason is due to the legal battle ongoing between CD Projekt RED and Namco due to the removal of DRM from the PC version of Witcher 2.
The Witcher 2 is an action RPG which was liked alike by both fans and critics. It had good sales figure and was a success for its developer CD Projekt RED. It is sequel to the original “The Witcher” on PC, which despite being lauded for its unique style gameplay and story, it was a horrible and buggy game. Later though, CD Project managed to patch the bugs by releasing updates for the game.
The original Witcher was also destined for a console release but never made it. It was announced for release in Fall 2009 but later it was cancelled.
This game is only announced for the Xbox 360, there is no news of any PS3 version so far.
