One of the main announcements at WWDC earlier this year was the new Retina MacBook Pro. With 2880 x 1800 resolution over a 15 inch screen, the Retina MacBook Pro set the bar up so high for laptop displays, that it’s yet to be surpassed. It all comes at a price though. With starting price at $2100 and sized at 15 inch, the Retina MacBook is not for everyone. What everyone does wish for is a 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro. Something equally as impressive, but more portable.
Reports are now coming in that Apple is manufacturing just that. Research firm NPD DisplaySearch says that Apple will unveil a 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro before the end of this year. The resolution on this laptop will be 2560 x 1600 which is exactly twice that of the current MacBook Pro. There has been high speculation about the possibility of a 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro right after the 15 inch version at WWDC. It’s not known at this point whether this will just be a display upgrade or will Apple pack in higher end hardware and streamline the chassis. What’s even more important is how Apple plans on pricing this laptop.
After a 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro, will Apple kill off the current Pro version or the Air?
