EA confirmed on August 28 that an unauthorized trailer containing work-in-progress footage from Motive’s Marvel’s Iron Man is authentic. The publisher acknowledged the leak through the game’s official account on X, according to reports from PC Gamer and VGC.
The roughly two-and-a-half-minute video offers the public’s first substantial look at the project since EA announced it in 2022. It combines cinematic scenes with playable sequences, though the build clearly shows unfinished visual assets and incomplete cinematic material.
The test build shows flight, combat and a S.H.I.E.L.D. location
The trailer shows Iron Man moving through the air, fighting enemies on the ground and engaging opponents while airborne. A sequence also takes players to a S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, placing the game in a recognizably Marvel setting without revealing its wider story.
Combat footage highlights rockets, cluster missiles and repulsor attacks. The video also appears to show armor customization, suggesting players may adjust Tony Stark’s equipment rather than rely on a single fixed suit throughout the game.
The clip carries an “Aug26 Test” label and placeholder text where a release period would normally appear. That presentation makes clear the footage comes from an internal development build rather than a polished marketing trailer.
The leak gives EA’s Marvel plans a visible starting point
The confirmation matters because Motive’s game has remained largely out of view for four years. EA has positioned Marvel projects as part of its planned portfolio, and this footage gives players their first indication of how one of those games may handle the character’s signature flight and weapons.
It also puts early expectations around a project that EA has only formally identified by title and developer. Motive now has a public reference point for its work, even if the material does not represent the finished experience.
EA has not announced a release date or window, nor has it said when it will publish a complete trailer or gameplay presentation. The company has also not detailed platforms, the story or the full armor customization system, and it remains unclear how closely this August 2026 test build will match the final release. EA said it plans to share more official material later.
