New technology is always great to see and use. The shiny gadgets companies release every month are barely enough to fulfil the appetite of your average tech geek. While new gadgets are indeed great to see, sometimes it’s all the more exciting to see them stripped apart. To see what they look like from inside. iFixit happens to have an expertise in that regard. And today they’ve stripped down the newly announced 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro.
iFixit tore apart the 15 inch variant of the same machine a few months ago and found out that the laptop was nigh on impossible to fix if needed. In fact they broke the LCD just trying to open the thing. With the 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro things are a little easier. Inside you get the same innovative battery layout and the same asymmetrical blade fans like in the 15 inch version. Fortunately now you can repair the trackpad if needed, which isn’t possible in the bigger version. The display is still impossible to take apart. Over all iFixit gave the 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro 2 out of 10 in repairibility which basically means you’d be buying a new machine if this goes bust.
Head over to their website for a detailed look on the guts of the 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro.
