Nintendo just announced the second re-design of its popular Wii console in the form of the Wii Mini. The Wii Mini features a brand new design and look and will retail for just $99. The launch is confirmed for Canada starting December 7th for now, availability in other regions is expected to be announced soon.
The Wii Mini’s new design features a textured black top with red accents on the side. Fittingly included with be a red Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk controller. The Wii Mini is smaller than the current Wii and has to be laid down unlike the original Wii.
Unfortunately to cut costs the Wii Mini will not include the in-built WiFi connectivity although its not confirmed if the console will be able to go online via Nintendo’s Ethernet to USB dongle. Just like the very last makes of the original Wii, the Wii Mini will not support GameCube discs or and of its accessories.
