Reports suggest that iPhone 3GS supplies are tightening as manufacturers are preparing for the iPhone 5/4S/4GS. This was expected as Apple discontinues two generation older iPhones just before their latest release, the same happened with the original iPhone and iPhone 3G. Read more
Rovio has finally updated the Angry Birds game on Windows Phone 7, showing loves to those Microsoft fanboys. The game was published as an Xbox Live game on the Zune Marketplace last month and has been shown a lot of love.
The game was initially released with just 135 levels but this new update bumps it up to a total of 225 levels. The update also unlocks episode 10 and 11. Rovio also changed the game’s startup screen (it’s different to the one you see above) and it’s quite a bit smoother, seems like the developers greatly optimized the game for WP7. We can expect further updates after Rovio is done adding more levels to the iPhone version.
AIMP has been around for almost five years now but it was hidden under Winamp’s massive shadow. But ever since Winamp lost its user-base by going completely haywire and becoming commercial, AIMP took the lead. The software is a free audio player which was developed in Russia, the original company still exists in Russia but now they’ve made their international mark by making a US version and many more. We are going to be reviewing this awesome little piece of software today and also rank it.
REVIEW
The Look
AIMP 3 is highly portable, it isn’t a RAM-hog like those other audio players of today and it has an impressive and elegant interface. The latest build, AIMP 3 BETA 2.0, has been massively overhauled. It is now smoother and more sleek. The player also embeds itself near the taskbar for optimum performance and easy accessibility while also adding a dash of style to the desktop.
The Features
AIMP 3 entails all of the essential features any audio player should have. The dev-team keeps adding neat little plugins to make it more and more extensive. AIMP is fairly new when compared to the older audio players in the business so it’s still being developed when it comes to adding the new addons to it.
The Flexibility
AIMP 3 is highly customizable. From changing the transparency of the interface to tweaking the little things, AIMP 3 delivers on the spot. It has a nice playlist editor and the format compatibility is nearly perfect.
Final Verdict
All in all, AIMP 3 is an awesome little software which is totally free. It is and will be free for the users, they won’t go commercial. Staying true to their awesome roots.
In Resident Evil – Operation Racoon City, we have to apparently kill fan favourite Leon Kennedy(*sigh* who would like to kill such a hero). This latest trailer shows Leon getting chased and killed by Umbrella Security Squad’s Delta Squad. It is just like in Metal Gear Solid 3, Time Paradox, since Leon getting killed means no Resident Evil 4. Let’s just throw this discussion for later and sit back and enjoy this somewhat disappointing trailer.
Even though 2011 hasn’t been perfect for us racing fans many promising games got released this year which we feel are worth a play. Check out the list below for 10 of them. The list includes games from various platforms including iOS. Do note that this list is based on the game released at the time of posting during 2011. Also note the list is based on the writer’s personal opinion, yours may differ.
10. Skydrift — Xbox 360 And PS3
Skydrift is one of my personal favorites of this year. Skydrive is a highly entertaining aircraft racing game where you race across your opponents in various sceneries including harsh desert canyons and gentle tropical islands. Casual gamers will surely love the game. The game is will also be hitting Steam very soon.
9. Death Rally — iOS And PC
Death Rally was re-released this year for iOS and was previously released on PC in 1996 developed by the highly popular gaming studio: Remedy Games behind the likes of Max Payne and Alan Wake. The game is a top down racing game where you ride different cars with various weapons on them just as the name suggests.
8. MotorStorm: Apocalypse — PS3
MotoStorm: Apocalypse is the third installment in the highly successful Playstation 3 exclusive racing franchise.MotorStorm: Apocalypse is set in a post apocalyptic world where you race various vehicles including Monster Trucs, APVs and Bikes to survive and take the crown.
7. MotoHeroz — Wii
MotoHeroz is a Wii Ware side scrolling racing game exclusive to Wii and a highly entertaining one at that. You know why this game’s good? It’s made by RedLynx, the same people behind the likes of Trials HD. MotoHeroz is a relatively weird game trying to mix Trials style gameplay with competitive racing. There’s one thing I know for sure, it’s darn fun playing online with friends.
6. TrackMania 2: Canyon — PC
TrackMania 2: Canyon is PC exclusive racing title by Ubisoft. There are many levels included with the game along with thousands of user generated tracks which make TrackMania 2: Canyon a game to keep. Also just like the name suggests most of the game’s levels take place in canyons.
5. F1 2011 — PC, Xbox 360, PS3 And 3DS
Who doesn’t love Formula 1? Well boring people that’s who! F1 2011 is major step up from F1 2010 featuring major changes which make the game much better. The multiplayer mode is very good, one of the better of all the racing simulators.
4. Shift 2: Unleashed — PC, Xbox 360 And PS3
Need For Speed: Shift 2 or Shift 2: Unleashed as it’s being called now is the sequal to the popular racing game NFS: Shift. Although not being able to compete with the likes of Forza and Gran Turismo as far as realistic racing simulators are concerned Shift 2: Unleashed come up and delivers the entrainment factor. The night races especially are brilliant and exhilarating to say the least.
3. Dirt 3 — PC, Xbox 360 And PS3
Dirt 3 or Colin Macrae’s Dirt 3 as it’s often called is an arcade off road racing game. Dirt 3 takes the game back to it’s rallying roots featuring on good old rallying racing much more. The game is easily the best off road racing game there is so we’d recommend a play.
2. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing — iOS
We love kart racing and I’m sure you do too so we’d highly recommend you checking out Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing for your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. It’s worth every bit of it’s tiny price tag and easily one of the best game on iOS ever. In Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing you can choose one of SEGA’s iconic game characters like Sonic and race them making it pretty similar to Mario Kart Racing.
1. Need For Speed: Hot Persuit
Ending off the list is Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, the Need For Speed we’ve all been waiting for. The game puts you in the shoes of either a cop or a racer, the player gets different perks or abilities depending on which side you choose. The game is meant to be played online so if you plan on getting it be sure to check the multiplayer mode out!
Apple released a new Press Release today announcing that they will be resetting all iCloud backups on September 22nd (2 days from the time of posting) to get ready for Gold Master release of iOS 5.
The announcement:
On Thursday, September 22, the iCloud Backup data will be reset. Backing up to iCloud or restoringfrom an iCloud backup will be unavailable from 9 AM PDT – 5 PM PDT. If you attempt a backup orrestore during this time, you will receive an alert that the backup or restore was not successful. After this reset, you will be unable to restore from any backup created prior to September 22. A full backup will happen automatically the next time your device backs up to iCloud.
The announcement was made on Apple’s developers board where they published a statement that all backups made by beta-testers in the iCloud will be deleted on 22nd of September. They didn’t give an exact reason why but we think it’s because they’re ready to release iOS 5 GM which is pretty much a given.
The final release of iOS 5 is expected on 10th of October with Apple announcing the not just one but two next generation iPhones. One is expected to be the true iPhone successor, the iPhone 5 while the other will be a cheaper – better version of the iPhone 4 called the iPhone 4S.
As you can see in the image below, the white version of the iPhone 4S has been spotted in AT&T’s system along with the other iPhone 4 models. No memory capacity has been mentioned, could this mean that the iPhone 4S is suppose to use the cloud for it’s storage and not flash storage?
Recent rumors suggest that Apple is planning on launching two next generation iPhones, one will be a cheaper but faster version of the iPhone 4 available on both pre-paid and post-paid contracts while the other will be the iPhone 5 featuring a new design and better hardware.
Google Insider Tom Flemming has hinted the release of the Google Nexus Prime, Google Nexus 3, Samsung Galaxy Nexus or Samsung Droid Nexus depending on what you want to call it.
By “Bruce Wayne’s true father” he is probably referring to Batman’s creator Bob Kane who died on November 3rd. Red and Black accents are indeed referring to Verizon’s stores backing up the rumors that the carrier chose to skip on the Galaxy S II and get something better instead. This hint has been backed up by the accurate leaker black_man_x so this could indeed mean something.
