  • Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 DLC Map Pack #2 ‘Uprising’ Leaked Details

It’s April which means it’s almost time for the second DLC map pack for Call of Duty Black Ops 2. The first map pack ‘Revolution’ was pretty successful and worked well in Treyarch’s favor as they tried putting out new content like game modes and even DLC weapons which is a first for a Call of Duty game.

The second DLC map pack will supposedly be called ‘Uprising’ according to the various leaks from the past few days. We’ll try our best is summing them up before the official announcement, which can be any day now.

Above is the first leaked image of Uprising; we can read out the name’s out the maps which are Vertigo, Encore, Magma and Studio along with the Zombies map Mob of the dead. By the looks of it there won’t be a DLC weapon this time around.

And now we have above another picture via Reddit of the same pre-order card.

The biggest info leaked is courtesy of YouTuber LiamFTWinter who managed to get some Uprising info from Xbox Live including the DLC’s full description and promo banner. The description is as follows:

Call of Duty®: Black Ops II Uprising includes four incredibly diverse Multiplayer Maps: Magma, Encore, Vertigo, and Studio: a reimagined adaptation of the fan-favorite Black Ops multiplayer map Firing Range. Uprising also introduces Mob of the Dead, Treyarch’s most terrifying Zombies experience to date. Top Hollywood talent rounds out a cast of four Prohibition-era gangsters that are forced to fend off hordes of the undead while imprisoned on San Francisco’s notorious Alcatraz Island. While guard towers and new weapons offer tactical advantages, survival offers an unprecedented new challenge for these four lost souls.

So Studio is a remake of the much loved Firing Range map from Black Ops 2, this is excellent news as a whole bunch of Black Ops 2 players wanted Treyarch to bring back the map like Infinity Ward brought back the Modern Warfare 2 map Terminal for Modern Warfare 3. The difference is that Treyarch will be modifying the map a bit or as they call it “reimagining”, exactly how similar will it play to Firing Range? We’ll find out when we see the map in action.

Here’s the promotional banner that came along with the description:

The Zombies map taking place in Alcatraz called Dawn of the Dead will mark the return of famed horror director George A. Romero who is a prominent character in the Zombies storyline, he debuted in Call of the Dead in the original Black Ops.

More information about the Dawn of the Dead is being discussed on the Black Ops 2 Zombies Reddit. This information supposedly comes from an Activision employee. Details are summed up nicely by Reddit user Zach34:

Here’s a basic outline of things said, hopefully it’s legit:

The four characters will die in the intro. They will come back in a Who’s Who-esque way. Buildables may play a big role, including building an airplane that is scripted to bring you to the Golden Gate Bridge. There is most likely a Pack-a-Punch around here.

The Warden is like the Cosmonaut. He may lock certain doors, such as locking a cell. 2-hit down with Juggernog.

Using an electric chair next to the pack-a-punch (since they’re ghosts) bring them back to the Island.

For the Wonder Weapon, it’s a “directional beam”. Apparently you can augment it to enhance it.

New perks will possibly be introduced. PhD may not return, but Deadshot may return. Apparently the Deadshot perma-perk is called “Heads Up”. Quick Revive may not make an appearance. Revive may not even play a part in the map. Instead, going down may give off a martyrdom effect. For a new perk, an electric burst may go off whilst reloading.

The map is supposedly “huge”. Music may be present throughout the entire map instead of ambient noises.

Separate areas may be incorporated, such as the different maps in Tranzit.

Uprising should be out on April 16th, but the official announcement should be made any day now. So who’s excited?

    Update: Uprising has been confirmed.

  • Black Ops 2 Tip: Post Patch Scar-H Is A Beast

So as regular Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players may know by now that a new patch was released a few days ago which changed quite a few things gameplay wise. A few guns including the FAL, MSMC and PDW were nerfed hard while others like the Type 25 and Scar-H were buffed. After playing around with the new Scar-H for a few hours I can say that it’s much better than the launch period Scar-H.

scar h 570x320 Black Ops 2 Tip: Post Patch Scar H Is A Beast

When the game came out everybody ignored the Scar-H because of it’s high recoil and slow fire rate even though the weapon was very popular in Modern Warfare 2 as well as Modern Warfare 3 (although MW3 featured the Scar-L variant). So the last two patches have definitely changed that Scar-H for good and it’s now one of the best guns in the game.

scar h black ops 2 570x282 Black Ops 2 Tip: Post Patch Scar H Is A Beast

The patch released at the end of January reduced idle sway for all the Assault Rifles as well as increasing the 3 hit kill range for the gun, now only at long range would the Scar require 4 shots to kill which was standard for all Assault Rifles. Well the March patch one up’ed that and now that Scar-H is a 3 hit kill at any distance, only the SMR and FAL have more damage now but they’re primarily single shot weapons.

So in short, the Scar-H is a beast now, go try it out and let me know what you think.

The map will also be available for free on other platforms later, but as Microsoft has a DLC exclusivity deal with Activision, the Xbox guys tend to get the new offers first.

Nuketown Zombies on the other hand will still cost some moola and will sell for 400MSP and it’s equivalent on other platforms.

    Gameplay Balancing

    Spawn System Improvements:

Added more spawn points to Hijacked for Demolition and Kill Confirmed, which improves the spawn-picking algorithm on that map in those game modes.
Adjusted spawn influencers on Standoff for improved spawn-picking algorithms in all game modes.

MSMC: Hip fire accuracy has been slightly reduced.
    PDW57: Recoil has been increased.
PDW57: Hip fire accuracy has been slightly reduced.

    Pistols:
    KAP-40: Dual wield damage reduced.
KAP-40: Dual wield hip fire accuracy has been reduced.

    Attachments:
MMS: Cold blooded now renders enemies almost completely invisible to MMS.

    LMGs:
    QBB-LSW: Medium range damage increased.
    HAMR: Medium range damage increased.

    Assault Rifles:
FAL OSW + Select Fire: Damage reduced when firing full auto.
SMR + Select Fire: Damage reduced when firing full auto.
    Type 25: Move speed increased.
Type 25: Medium range damage increased.
    SCAR: Long range damage increased.
    SWAT-556: Long range damage increased.

    Shotguns:
    M1216: Medium range damage increased.

    Sniper Rifles:
Ballista + Iron Sight: Idle sway reduced.

    Zombies Issues Addressed
Resolved several issues with exploitable areas in the Die Rise
Resolved several exploits in Green Run
Resolved network/connectivity issues that could occur in the frontend and lobbies.

Some great improvements there like the KAP 40 patch but I’m not sure about the two best SMGs being nerfed i.e the MSMC and PDW. As you may know all of the SMGs were nerfed in the last patch when used with silencers. The Assault Rifles also got a bit of a buff this time, looks like the SCAR will be a beast now. The FAL and SMR were nerfed even more with Select Fire, a very good decision in my opinion.
