  • Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Is Better With Kinect According To Xbox.com

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is the latest installment in the Ghost Recon third person shooter series by Ubisoft. According to a recent listing on the game plays “better with Kinect” along with Kinect branding which is only for games properly supported by the Kinect sensor.

So we can expect movement recondition but what else? Voice and Facial recondition are also possible along with in-game menu navigation with the Kinect sensor. Ubisoft were contacted for a response but they decided not to comment on the situation but we can surely expect more news about Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at E3 this next month.

  • PS3 Version Of Black Ops 2 Allows Texture Install To HDD Option

Great news for PS3 owners! The PS3 version of Black Ops 2 will supposedly allow player to install the game’s textures to their HDDs. The news was revealed by Black Ops 2′s game director David “DJ Vahn” Vonderhaar  on the Call of Duty forums.

Extra Black Ops 2 PS3 PS3 Version Of Black Ops 2 Allows Texture Install To HDD Option

    His post is as follows:

This is one the fans having been asking us about demanding for a bit. Black Ops 2 has an option to “Install Textures to HDD.”

When we explained to PS3 folks that installing to the HDD wouldn’t neccessarily give us any significant performance gains, they explained back that the issue is they play so much it puts constant stress on the Blu-ray drive and wears them out.

    Roger that.

It’s a non-trivial amount of HDD space to install all the textures. I don’t want to get into exactly numbers because anything can, and does change during development.

You don’t have to install to enjoy the game. We still pre-cache like we did on Black Ops.

    David ‘Vahn’ Vonderhaar

I remember Battlefield 3 doing this which worked out great, so having this option in Black Ops 2 is very welcomed. So if you plan to play a lot of Black Ops 2 this and next year then your BluRay drive will have a lot less work to do thanks to this feature.

  • Okami HD Release Date And Cost Revealed

We reported earlier that the PS2 classic, Okami, would be coming to the PS3 in glorious HD as Okami HD. Later, some pictures and a video were revealed as well.

Now, a release date has been confirmed. At TGS yesterday, Capcom announced that Okami HD will be coming out on the PlayStation Store on October 30th. The price? A meager $19.99. In Japan, the game costs 4000 Yen, according to the previous report. The Japanese release is on the 1st of November.

The game will feature 1080p graphics and visuals, which should be plenty of eye candy for the gamers as the game is beautiful and very artistic. But the question is, will the players buy it? The PlayStation 3 has had lots of HD remakes and collections, which makes it hard for the people to keep up and decide whether or not it’s worth buying an old game just for advanced visuals and that nostalgic feeling.

    What’s your take on this?

  • Tomb Raider Reboot Delayed To 2013

Crystal Dynamics’ highly anticipated Tomb Raider reboot has unfortunately been delayed to the first quarter of 2013. The news came in directly from the developer’s blog where studio head Darrell Gallagher explained that they had to delay the game to ensure that they  “fully deliver the very highest quality game”.

He issued the following statement on the forums:

A Message to the Tomb Raider Community

When Crystal Dynamics first set out to reboot the Tomb Raider franchise, there were two goals that we were extremely passionate about. The first was to create a modern Tomb Raider game that would surprise and excite gamers. The second was to make this the best game of our careers, something we would be really proud to be a part of. We truly believe that we have something very special on our hands and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Our priority now is to make sure we fully deliver the very highest quality game. In order to do this, we have decided to move the game’s release date by a few months, from Fall 2012 to the first quarter of 2013.

We’re doing things that are completely new to Tomb Raider in this game and the additional development time will allow us to put the finishing touches into the game and polish it to a level that you deserve. We believe this is the right choice and I guarantee it will be worth the wait. The game is looking amazing and we can’t wait to show it to everyone at E3 in a few weeks.

    Darrell Gallagher

Lets hope the delay is worth it.
